  1. Yanks are 90-67. Sox have five more games against slugs. Seattle has two more vs A’s before facing Halos Jay’s have two more vs yanks before playing the O’s. If Yanks win one more game vs Jays, they guarantee at least a tie with them, but with the Mariners surging it doesn’t guarantee a tie for a WC spot. Crazy times. Should be a fun finish
  2. Stanton didn’t get hurt apparently. He just smashed a three run bomb
  3. Stanton slipped in the box. Not sure if he is hurt. Taillon just left the game with ankle pain and will likely need to get the surgery he delayed.
  4. And Taillon’s season is done. Just came out due to ankle. My bet is he gets surgery
  5. Stanton just looked like he got hurt. He took a swing and slipped and limped off
  6. Yeah, the C team has one less chance of securing a post season spot, but they also are handed a gift by facing a team who just lost a win and in game and presumably burned their best starter and some of their pen
  7. So in the above scenario, the Yanks would be club C since they lost series to sox and jays already. That means the Yanks will have a one game win and you're in. What that also means is the Yanks one game win and in would be with their ace on the hill (presumably) while the loser of the A and B game would have burned theirs
  8. Having the Angels and Rangers in your division makes it easy to suck your way to a bunch of wins. Put that same team in the East and they're doormats
  9. I do not think head to head determines who goes right to the WC game and who has to play in a play in game in the event of a 3 way tie. I think it is the good old coin flip.
  10. Problem with that is that some pitches are off the plate when they pass the front but clip the back part of the plate due to spin and movement. That being said, this is more consistent than the garbage we saw Sunday night. Joe West missed a pure cockshot
  11. Our offensive and baserunning performances have sucked. Our managing has sucked. Our coaching has sucked. Our pen is deep, especially with Loaisiga coming back tomorrow. Our rotation has outperformed my expectations. It's all about the offense and their utter lack of consistency. They have the talent, but can they find the consistency late and carry it into the postseason. If they can, then they are dangerous. If they cannot, then they might not even make a play in game
  12. They need an experienced closer. Richards will be gone. Ottavino will likely move far away from the northeast so he can recover from his shellings. Barnes will be around, but he is not a closer. DHern doesn't have the command to close. Whitlock will be a starter and I expect them to use Houck as a starter early on as well. So what does that leave you with in the pen? Barnes DHern Brasier Sawamura You don't start with that above and decide to add rooks to it and roll unless you plan on losing 90 games
  13. I HIGHLY doubt the Yanks would sacrifice setting up Cole for the WC game to go all out for the WC1. As the Yanks proved, home field means nothing between these two. If on the last day, the Yanks are one game up on the sox for WC1, there is zero chance we go with Cole on short rest. We'd ride with Taillon and if we have a chance to win, take it. If we get way behind, send in some middle relievers of no consequence and rest up
  14. Feltman is interesting to me. He moved up to AAA and was more effective, yet his K rate went down as did his GB rate. I wonder if they took away a sinker and moved him to a 4SFB guy. This would account for more FB's and if he got a jump in velocity, the softer contact. I do think Houck is a starter for you next year out of the gate, but he is miscast in that role without learning some other pitch. He is a 3-4 inning pitcher as a starter as most teams can adjust and hit FB and slider especially as the pitcher gets a bit tired. There is little chance the sox build a pen from within. I absolutely believe you'll see some BP signings this offseason, if not the splashy types.
  15. If the sox don't end up in a play in game at worst then the final week is an utter failure. They have the best setup of the 3 teams fighting for the ALWC
  16. I have said it all season, the Yanks are the more talented team. They hadn't played like it until recently. They have the lowest ERA in the AL for a reason. Their rotation, even with all the guys coming in and out, has been 4th best in the AL in ERA. They have the 3rd best pen by ERA. Their issue is their inconsistent offense. Lemahieu was an MVP candidate last year. Judge is a perennial MVP candidate having a monster year. Stanton has been really good this year. We added a guy who has already hit 38 bombs and a solid 1b who have helped even out the lineup. And yet, the lineup still isnt hitting well. It's a leadership issue, a coaching issue, whatever, but it is not for lack of talent. When the talent plays to their potential, the sox shouldn't be even with us. The fact that they are one game back with 6 to play is a testament to the Yanks underachieving and to the Sox overachieving and to Cora's management (and Boone's utter mismanagement). In terms of what I expect to happen, I expect the Sox to win 4 of their final 6 winning both series. I have no idea what the Yanks will do as theyve been inconsistent to say the least, but they will be benefited by TB laying down and resting starters for the POs. The Jays are gonna be the wild cards for the final 6 games. Sox fans should actually hope the Yanks take care of business vs them as they play Baltimore to end the season and they have demolished Baltimore the last couple months. Good chance Yanks go 3-3, Jays go 5-1 and Sox go 4-2 and there is a 3 way tie. If there is, it is a coin flip for which team moves onto the WC1 spot and then the other two teams play a playin game with the winner playing WC1 coin flip winner in a winner take all event to go to the ALDS
  17. It’s not surprising. Sox are gonna add games the next three days over either the yanks or the jays.
  18. Series meant more to the Yanks. With the Yanks facing the Jays for three and the Sox facing the O’s for three, there’s a pretty good shot that the Sox widen their lead for a playoff spot the next three days. Now that TB has clinched, I do not feel like the last three for the yanks are gonna be tough, but by Thursday late night, we should know who’s going to the POs
  19. Game is 2-2. DJ drops a foul ball. Gallo drops a ball in LF allowing a run to score. Wade pinch runs, gets thrown out at 2b because he didn’t slide. DJ walks, Rizzo doubles. Judge pops up and Dalbec botched it. Judge K’s and Vaz dropping the ball on the transfer and is called a foul ball. Then Judge 2 run double, Stanton 2 run bomb. Then Devers with a ground rule double starting off the 8th. This game is far from over
  20. Lol, you’re funny. I initially posted on this thread after Wade got thrown out with the Yanks down 1. Not my fault your pen decided to blow it after being handed an out.
  21. This Stanton guy is pretty good
  22. The last 15 minutes have me f***ing baffled
  23. Yeah, H2H is just for home field. If it’s a tie for the final WC spot, it will be a play in game
