  1. We scored 2 runs, but this offense continues to gag on donkey dick. ARod and Ibanez striking out against this shitballer who everyone else tees off on regularly. We need to recycle some of the players on this team. I love the fact that the home fans are just killing ARod and Tex right now. They both suck hard
  2. Granderson cannot hit to situations, ever. 2 curveballs that he looked baffled on. Gotta get the ball in the air. We need a f***ing lead here
  3. HOLY s***, A HIT WITH RISP?!?!!!?!!! THIS IS AS RARE AS THE SOLAR ECLIPSE! I BETTER ORDER MY COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE!!
  4. sacks packed, no outs, Jeter up. How much you wanna bet we blow this?
  5. I am so f***ing sick of this team right now
  6. The ghost of Mark Teixeira grounded into a DP. 2 runners on, 4 at bats, no hits
  7. Cherington is said to be leaning towards keeping Middlebrooks up with the club.
  8. There is always a seminal moment in the Yankees seasons since 1995 that have sparked us into the playoffs or into the off-season (08 only). The thing is, I thought that moment was the big comeback vs the sox. But that may have been the last sputter of a dying offense. This experiment just isnt working. I hope they prove me wrong, but right now, they are just not fun to watch at all.
  9. maybe we could dress up Ruth's corpse and put him at 1b. He's likely improve the production at the position
  10. It's about underperformance. I highly doubt ARod turns in a 15HR season should he make it through the whole yr, and Tex isnt going to hit 18 either, which he is currently on pace for. My biggest issue with this team is that they have no balls, and they need to get them quickly. Guys get on base but as soon as a runner reaches second, the batter tries to hit the ball out of the park instead of put in a good AB and a good swing.
  11. it's time to fire Kevin Long.
  12. 3-0 KC again. Really, we are getting run by the f***ing Royals. This team needs a cattleprod to the nads
  13. when it rains it pours. Banuelos to the DL with elbow pain. MRI pending
  14. I hope they cancel it since Kuroda is already giving up taterballs
  15. Fractured navicular. Probably an 8 week injury assuming the bone doesnt shift. If it does, he will need surgery and be out for the yr.
  16. I have been pushing for it for awhile now. He is in the same place, IMO, as Bard. His mechanics are out of whack and his size makes is a little more difficult to repeat them. His stuff is unquestioned. In his last start, he was throwing mid 90s and has been topping out in the 98mph range. His breaking ball is devastating. His change looks great. The problem is, he will throw a nasty curve, then bounce 2 of them. He'll pain a corner than throw 3 of them over the batter's head. He's a f***ing mechanical mess. The problem is, he puts up one dominant start and people go ga-ga over him. They are hoping for a Randy Johnson outcome, but the more he continues to get lost in his windup, the more he is pushing towards a Daniel Cabrera. And with our need for some power at the back of the pen, I'd like to see what he can do. I do think he will be converted if he continues down this path, though
  17. He had a massive problem repeating his delivery on arriving in the minors. They simplified things for him out of the stretch and he reached his potential from a pen perspective. Now, they are complicating things for him. His command hasnt reached that level, but he is devolving into the mess he was in A ball when he walked nearly a batter an inning.
  18. Evan Rutckyj had a nice debut in long season. The 6'5" Canadian lefty was drafted out of HS in Canada in 2010. After remaking his delivery and seeing poor results in the GCL last yr, the Yankees saw a bump in velocity as well as a complete retooling of his curveball. With the improved velocity, he also added a significant refinement to his delivery and has finally started to see good results out of it in terms of less walks and a higher K rate. He was one of the most impressive starters in EST and when the need arose, he got the call. Yesterday, he pitched 5 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits, no walks and 8K's while routinely sitting in the low to mid 90s with the heat. If he has harnessed his mechanics and his velocity, he would have ace potential
  19. This team just isnt fun to watch right now. A team that predicates itself on a patient offense and timely hitting has been anything but thus far this season. The fact that this team is 8th in baseball in walks shows this problem precisely. This is a Yankee team that has been either 1st or 2nd in walks in all of baseball since 2009 and all of a sudden, we are 8th. We were something like 4 for our last 50 in RISP chances as well, showing that our comeback mantra and timely hitting reputation has been s*** this season. Part of this is injuries. Obviously, having a guy like Gardner and his very high P/PA as well as OBP and speed on the DL hurts a lot. But the other issue is that our big guys arent walking either. Nick Swisher, a guy who has walked 95+ times in 2 of his 3 seasons is on pace for barely 50. Mark Teixeira has fallen off a cliff. Never mind the horrible BA and OPS, the guy went 10 games without a walk. He's on pace for 45 walks, which would be the lowest total since his rookie season. Having him in the middle of the lineup has been brutal as well with his pisspoor average and power production. Then you have ARod, who is walking at a solid pace. His SLG is barely over .400 and lately he's seen to lack some of the trademark power that has made him famous. His bat doesnt appear to be slow as it has in the past, but he has crushed a few balls, he's walked out of the box like he's hit a homer and the fielder will catch it at the warning track. We've also seen Martin on the interstate, Granderson hit nearly all his HRs with nobody on base, and way too many games started by Jayson Nix, Chris Stewart and DeWayne Wise. Yes, Jeter has been dominant, but he will cool off. Right now, we have a team who looks old and dead. No life, no patience, everyone trying to hit 3 run HRs with nobody on base and a middle of the order that looks lifeless. Cano appears to be the only guy who can hit consistently, but even his power is down. This isnt really a quick fix, you have to hope that the guys who have played at an exception level can return to that level and fast. Cause this rotation isnt good enough to be given 3 runs a game to work with, even with a good bullpen.
  20. You start to see professional hitters in AA who just dont have the skills to make it on the big league level. Guys who have had cups of coffee, with good approaches at the plate but lacking the skill to be solid contributors on a big club. Those are the hitters he needs to dominate in order to move up. AA should pose some sort of a challenge for him.
  21. Ronnier Mustelier might get some time in the bigs this yr, and it would be great if he could. Mustelier is not your typical 27 yr old minor leaguer. He defected from Cuba in 2010 after playing well in the Cuban league. He signed with the Yankees and has dominated his entire career in the minors, spanning now 1+ seasons. Last yr, he hit .356 between A and A+. This yr, he is hitting .340 across AA and AAA. Ronnier looks like a guy who could help us at multiple positions. He is primarily a 3b, but I have seen him in box scores playing 1B and the COF spots. We currently have a guy in Chavez doing that and he isnt bad right now. I am unsure about his capability of filling in up the middle, but if this guy can play the COF spots, we need to DFA a guy like Wise. The guy can hit and should get a shot.
  22. a 16 game winner from a yr ago
