  1. How the motherf*** did Freddy Longball allow only 1 run through 6.2IP.
  2. He's gonna be a huge push for a deadline team. If the White Sox stay in it, they could probably use him. Move Dunn out to LF, keep Konerko at 1b and insert Papi. They'd instantly be the team to beat in the AL Central
  3. I am an enabler when people are drinking. Cmon man, do a car bomb
  4. BTW, you guys actually have another player who could net quite a haul at the deadline in Ross. He's having a career yr and even though his stats look better due to Boston, he could be turned into a Nady type deal. The Yankees gave up their #2 rated prospect at the time for him
  5. Ortiz' 14 million dollar embarassment could net you a humongous haul at the deadline. He'd be the best hitter on the market.
  6. Kalish is a RFer. He is not a centerfielder, nor should he ever be. You're gonna have to deal with his rookie mistakes, but he will be a long term player for you, assuming he isnt moved
  7. Hey, we missed out on the POs in 2008 and made some humongous overhauls, and won the World Series in 2009. Sometimes it takes an epic fail to make a big change
  8. You saw the difference between a patient hitter in Nava and Ciriaco, even though they both swung first pitch. Ciriaco chased a ball that wasnt even close, Nava got him in the zone. Freddy is a guy who can throw strikes at will if he wanted to, you just have to make him do it
  9. This is bizarre. Garcia is a guy who will get murdered in the zone. Patient hitters destroy him, guys who jump at him are made to look silly. With the sox core on the shelf, the second tier guys are getting exposed
  10. I actually live outside Boston. My best friends are sox fans, my wife is a sox fan and I trained and went to college in Mass. I am more of a M******* than most people on this site. I grew up a NY fan in western CT and my family hails from NYC and NJ, hence my allegiance
  11. You dont just lose all power at age 30 without some reason. It isnt like he has the yips or he's lost his drive. The guy can still hit, just with no power. There is a reason. I know everyone on here is pissed at him this yr, but he should get healthy in the offseason or hell, get him healthy once the sox give up the ghost. He's gonna be a hell of a sleeper fantasy pick next yr. .300, 30HR, 100RBI.
  12. OMFG, a Yankee fan on a sox game thread, GTFO!! Lol
  13. It's not bad, I never said it was. Just touchy. Very touchy.
  14. Scouting gives you data. The stats give you data as well. You need to have good scouting and good statistical analysis to find players under the radar. Theo had that with Ortiz, Mueller, Millar, etc.
  15. It's not desperate, it's unfortunate reality. Your team has been decimated with injuries and ineptitude. You just suck it up and see where the chips fall
