  1. 12 days in my friend. 12 days with no major advantage. 21 to go till we should be closer to capacity
  2. So we're tied in the loss column 12 days into the season. We get Jeter and Granderson back in 3 weeks or so. Every day that passes that someone doesn't just bolt past us is a day we can use to jump ahead once we're healthy
  3. We're getting help from the heavens. Rain washes two games into a later portion of the yr. Btw, Atlantis is AMAZING
  4. CC's demise appears to have been greatly exaggerated
  5. Against our current offense. Remember that. We really should have signed Reynolds this offseason to ensure we set a new team record for K's. BTW, Pettitte looked great
  6. He actually didn't get his usual calls. He ate Bradley for lunch
  7. That certainly could happen and it'd be a shame. If Hank and Hal really want to get down below $189 mil, they better use their farm. Warren looked good yesterday. Phelps is good. Nova has had success. We have guys who are coming through the farm who should be very good. I want to see us use this
  8. Dempster's stuff looks pretty average
  9. The sox filled the gap with good clubhouse guys. This team is playing way over its head right now and it will eventually hit a dry spell and all this enthusiasm will dry up. I seem to remember a few yrs back when the Dodgers started out 13-2 and everyone was all on their jock. They ended up under .500 and missed the PO's by 15 games. It's a marathon, not a sprint
  10. See, in a dream scenario, the Yankees would be able to stay afloat, get the injured guys back and win enough to make the POs. But in a reality scenario, I really hope we dont end up in no man's land. Let's say we're 10 games out when ARod returns. That might be a small enough gap to consider dealing away some of our kids to stay in contention. I either hope these old f***s come to life and we show how strong we can be when fully healthy, or we divebomb so badly that we dont even consider dealing away our kids. It might not be a bad thing to let Grandy walk via FA, snag a top tier pick for the 2014 and 2015 draft and reload for the 2015 season.
  11. You're right on this one BSN. It's patch filling with 40 year old caulk.
  12. Iggy can hit 90mph fastballs down the middle. Good for him. I'd take nothing out of the first two games from the Sox perspective. Our pitching was abysmal and the location was absolutely awful
  13. CC will be fine, IMO. I think we will start to see a decline in stuff either this yr or next, but we should also see an adjustment with his other stuff. He will still be able to reach back for the 94mph if he has to. He's been transitioning from power pitcher for 3 yrs now, so I dont think this will be a problem. Like I've said before, I am not worried about the pitching. Our pen will be fine with Robertson, Phelps and Rivera and our rotation is pretty deep once Hughes returns. It's the offense. And on that note, I need to get something off my chest. What the ever living f*** is Cashman doing with these f***ing retreads? Youkilis is a good pickup, good work. But you let Swisher and Martin walk and we get to resign Ichiro? Okay, that one isnt too bad. Grandy goes down and we get Vernon f***ing Wells and we take on $13 mil in salary? Are you retarded? Tex goes down and we replace him with Lyle f***ing Overbay? Great job Cashman! I just dont f***ing understand his reluctance to see what his farm has. We have 2 big league ready guys in Mesa and Almonte. Do they look like future stars? No. Do they even look like future starting OFers? No they dont. But do they have tools that if they put it all together could be a useful part of our future either on the team or via trade? f*** yeah! Almonte isnt patient, but can hit, he can run, and he can field. Mesa is patient, can hit the ball a mile, can run like the wind and play elite defense, he just doesnt make contact, really he misses the ball 1/3 of his ABs. But those guys could give us what Wells will give us. I can place a line on Wells before he gets DFA'd when Grandy returns. I'm going .240/.320/.380 with no steals and miserable D. He sounds like a WINNAH!! Then we get to Overbay. I could go out there and give you what Overbay's gonna give us. He might not hit .200 out of 1b. PHENOMENAL! Why the f*** isnt Youkilis at 1B??? He isnt a good 3b and is an elite defender at 1b. We HAD David Adams before we DFA'd him for Overbay. I guarantee he would have had a better line than loser Lyle. We also have Corban Joseph, who is a better player than Lyle the Lackey. And then there is Ronnier Mustelier, who hit the f***ing cover off the ball in ST, who is recovering from a bone bruise from a week ago. He should be ready in a few days. If he isnt starting at 3b with Youk at 1b and Overbay on the scrap heap, I'm gonna go thermo-nuclear. Our pitching has the gusto to hold us through this, but we cannot be f***ing around with the lineup like we have been. We cannot continue to house s*** ass players and run them on the field knowing that the guy sitting in Section A Row 3 Seat 109 can give you just as much, if not more. Let the kids play. We need some fire, we need some energy and we need to see what we've got before the big prospects land here later in the yr
  14. I'll never root for another team. But to be totally honest, we've been playing a Ponzi game with our club and now it's time to pay the piper and we don't have enough to withstand injuries or in effectiveness. I'm okay with a down season or two, but with ARod on the books for another 4 seasons after this one and tex on the books for 3 more and CC for 4 more, it's looking like we're finally reaching a breaking point. And with some fiscal restraint coming, we're bound for a fall. Thing was, I thought the fall would come next yr but with all the injuries it's looking like it'll come this yr. we have to start building from within. One of the best ways to do that would be to move Cano, but it looks like we're going to lock another 30+ yr old player into a long expensive contract.
  15. The starters let us down, no doubt. I anticipate that they'll get their s*** together. But just like in the playoffs, our starters have to be near perfect or else we lose. Our hitting sucks ******* right now and it doesn't even look like the team has any urgency or even any fire. By the time our full team returns, we might be in position for a protected pick. We need a spark. I hope Pettitte can turn it around tonight and give us something positive going into a buzzsaw in detroit
  16. They look dead, akin to how they looked in the ALCS. This is looking like a bad hangover
  17. Our 1st rounder from 2012 is out 2-3 months after hip surgery. The entire org is f***ing snakebit
  18. This team sucks moosecock
  19. Hank and Hal have had winners every yr since George relinquished control sans 2008. 2008 was understandable since we lost so many players in season. This yr, before the hot stove even turned on, we lost ARod and then during the hot part we essentially traded Swisher and Martin for Youkilis. They came into camp with almost no margin for error, then Tex and Grandy go down and Jeter is taking awhile. They don't have the players to make up for that right now and lots of fans are down on them. I've said it before, but come the end of May, if we're 15 games out, YS will be a ghost town an Hank and Hal would be fools not to infuse money again. I know the Yankee payroll set a new record this yr, but it just might not be enough. And to consider paring another $42 million from this club would be eviscerating to the talent level
  20. He may be a cold hearted business guy, but if you thought the pink hats were bad, just wait to see what the pink pinstripers will pull. If this team shows no signs of life come mid May, Yankee Stadium will be a ghost town. The money he'd lose from revenue will make the rebate and lux tax money saved look like pocket change.
  21. I know we'd been due for a rough yr, but with the pitching returning, I thought we'd hold off father time for one more yr. I still might be right, but when you lose Martin and Swisher via FA, then ARod, Tex, and Granderson for a long while, you're kinda up s***'s creek. And now with Derek out, who knows when we'll actually see our full lineup. This team is going to have to play .700 ball when they're all back to contend.
  22. Pineda has been throwing well in his side sessions. He should start a rehab assignment in May and is expected to be fully ready come June. I anticipate the Yankees will hold him back a bit and wait until he is completely ready.
  23. Clayton Kershaw will get the richest and longest deal ever given to a pitcher. And immediately after the ink is dry, I hope he and Greinke blow out their shoulders dry humping each other after snorting Ritalin and Prozac
  24. I havent been this unexcited about the start of a season in a long time. Maybe it has to do with my life at home, maybe it has to do with the team being f***ing injured or maybe it has to do with the fact that instead of replacing or re-signing our talent, we signed the injured portion of the 2006 AL All Star team. Game 1 couldnt have been worse. Our lone bright spot offensively was provided by a AAAA catcher getting a little single with the sacks packed after Nix sucked nuts prior to him. Before and after that one moment, this team had no f***ing life. I hope that they decide to come out to play on Wednesday. This isnt a team with the makeup or the talent as of right now to take a big deficit and chip away to make it a lead late. This is a team that needs its pitching to be perfect, and CC sucked today
