  1. You have an issue with Jackie Robinson?
  2. He doesn't seem to have a putaway pitch tonight. He's getting ahead, but for some reason, he cant close the deal without a lot of work. His velo is down a touch, maybe due to the cold
  3. 73 pitches through 3.1IP. Gonna be a long game for the pen
  4. Bradley has a .385OBP thus far
  5. Dean Anna is hitting .176, so he isn't really winning anything. Solarte has been awesome, but it wont last. We've gotten 80.1IP out of our rotation (6.2IP/start), our pen has been solid, and we've moved our runners well. Plus, we've had a fair amount of luck. We're still near the bottom in batting with RISP, and we've only scored 3.8 runs per game. It's deceiving, though. We've scored 32 runs in our 7 wins (4.6 per game) and only 14 runs in our six losses (2.3 per game). Strange indeed
  6. Well, Nava didn't like my last post
  7. Also, for those looking for reasons why the sox aren't winning, look no further than Ortiz, Pedroia, and Nava. Injuries hurt, but Ortiz is 200 points below his OPS from last yr, Pedroia has been hurt and when he's been on the field he's been putrid, and Nava has been a waste at the dish and in the field.
  8. Nava had a .300 season with a .380OBP last yr. He's gonna get a LOT of rope this yr, whether you like it or now. Sizemore is a true CFer, he just isn't reliable in terms of health. Victorino is a true CFer as well. I have a feeling JBJ goes down to get regular at bats and comes back when either Vic or Grady need another DL stint
  9. I think there is no way Bradley stays in the majors. Vic comes in and anyone else in that OF needs to be dealt or DFA'd.
  10. JBJ is as good as it gets in CF, but Sizemore is an experiment in LF
  11. At least less players need operations by the second week of april. Huge improvement on last yr, lol. Thus far, I have been a peripheral observer, but the name that is standing out is Gary Sanchez. He's hitting .353/.450/.588 through 9 games and is just hammering the ball and showing patience. Last yr, his defense took a major step forward and thus far, this season, his offense is making the move. He's got the potential to be a power hitting starting catcher, but he's blocked here. Unlike Montero, though, I think this kid sticks in the org as the backup catcher to McCann as early as mid season next yr and probably backup 1b and full time DH come 2016. He's been in the system for awhile, but he's only 21 yrs old.
  12. Yeah, it's early. But from the get go last yr, the sox were hot. I've said from the beginning that relying on players to repeat career seasons and near total reasonable health is not realistic. Last yr you had career seasons from regulars AND backups. You had resurgent years from starters AND relievers. Have you any idea how perfect that went for you guys? Well, you lose 3 key pieces and replace them internally and now those career year guys start out slow and you're 3 games under .500. I think the sox are still a playoff caliber team, but they're not the beasts of the east, imo
  13. Grasping at straws, I love it. Maybe, just maybe, the Yankees are better than you thought?
  14. Had to work again, but it looks like Nova pitched a pretty good game again. Always nice to take a long series against the sox.
  15. You know the funny thing is, the three spots you downgraded on have all been pretty solid. JBJ, Bogaerts, and AJP have been good to this point. I think some of the fluke production from last yr is catching up with you. Nava isn't a .300 hitter. Papi will not replicate last yr. And your pitching staff overachieved.
  16. That's a "f*** You" offer. He's gone
  17. Had to work the whole time today, but saw the highlights. Good to see the bombers back in action
  18. He's 39 and has a long history of injuries. You really want to push him?
  19. Girardi is hoping to save his pen for the next 2 games.
  20. Everything is up in the zone now. He's done. Girardi, are you f***ing trying to lose this thing? He's cooked, pull him!
  21. Get the pen warming. He might be done
  22. That's the pre-requisite CC homer. Glad it's just a solo
