  1. I think Encarnacion is ticketed for Boston. Benintendi is your LF next yr. Moncada will push Shaw. Everyone else in the minors is trade bait. I think you will still have enough to get a middle to top line starter if willing to deal off some painful assets like Devers or Groome
  2. If we are going to do this right, we have to finish the deal. We must move Beltran. He should bring in a serious haul as the best offensive piece on the market. We must move McCann. He is a 33 yr old backstop, that is usually when the catchers turn into 1b's, DH's, or pumpkins. We must move or cut Tex. If someone wants him, then take him, otherwise sayonara. And it hurts me to say that as he was my favorite player We must cut the AFraud. We must deal Nova The events above, obviously dependent on who we get should set in motion the following. Moving McCann allows us to call up the #2 catching prospect in baseball, Gary Sanchez. The kid can hit for average, power, patience and has significantly improved his receiving Moving Tex allows us to bring up Tyler Austin for an audition. Once a top prospect, he was derailed for a few yrs with wrist injuries. Now, he is killing the ball in AAA Cutting ARod allows me to not see his f***ing face anymore. Dealing Beltran allows us to bring up one of our OF prospects. In a perfect world, that is Aaron Judge, but he's hurt. I'd take Gamel, Cave, etc and give them a shot. Tell Aaron Hicks to GFY as well Dealing off Nova allows us to bring in Severino and give him his spot back. He went down, did his work, and deserves a shot again
  3. Well, the sox wanted immediate big league guys!!?! The currency to get young talent is prospects. Either you grow them or you deal them. Finances aren't a method of team building anymore. Even the Dodgers with their insane payroll have a great farm system. And we just got two top 25 prospects and a top 100 prospect plus a bunch of other guys who have a big league future for two relievers. Two great relievers, but two relievers none the less. BTW, I really like Heller as a sleeper here. The guy is dominating AA and AAA with 100mph heat and a plus slider. The guy should probably just come to the bigs now and learn on the job
  4. Yankees now have 7 of the top 100 based on MLB and 7 based on BA with the final guy being different on each one. Sufficed to say, we have 8 of the top 100 or so prospects in the game. We will be adding to this. Every single fan that roots against us needs to be wary. This is exactly what we have needed to do for a long time. If done appropriately and then filled in by using our monetary advantage, the Yankees will rise again
  5. Rumors swirling about dealing McCann to the Braves. They are trying to contend for next yr with their new park being built. We should eat the whole damn contract and get something good. We have the #2 catching prospect in baseball ready at the AAA level. Time to deal him off and ascend Sanchez to the starting spot
  6. There is no point in having a shutdown pen when your offense stinks and your rotation cannot get a lead past the 6th inning. We needed to rebuild and we used two relievers to vault our system into the top 10 at least. Doesn't hurt that our first round pick is absolutely killing it either
  7. Braves talking to NY about McCann. If I'm Cash, I eat all of the money and insist on a good prospect.
  8. Heller is an intriguing pickup. Plus slider, 100mph heat and dominating the upper levels. He might slide right into our own now and with any luck, turn into a back end reliever. Feyereisen is another high end potential reliever. Seems the plan was to try and replace Miller long term in this deal while grabbing two high end blue chippers as well in Frazier and Sheffield. It's an insane price to pay for a reliever, really, f***ing insane
  9. We just got a top 25 prospect in Clint Frazier and a near top 50 prospect in Justus Sheffield for Andrew Miller. Phenomenal deal for a reliever
  10. And maybe he has a right to be. My hope is that he realizes our situation and is able to deal off parts while they are still worth something. McCann is a name out there. Gardner too. Obviously Beltran and Nova are out there as they are rentals for the most part. I want to enter prospect acquisition mode. I don't mean to become a 5 year project, but the more prospects we get, the better chance we hit on some and can deal others away before they turn into pumpkins. We cannot rebuild our roster like we had in years' past. The FA market this offseason is upsettingly bad.
  11. Anyone is available technically. I am sure the Angels would deal Trout if you offered Betts, Bogaerts and Bradley too. It is a question of realistic expectations. Getting the top pitching prospect in baseball for a reliever is a significantly good get. If that isn't enough, then my bet is they aren't moving him
  12. Cano has him on WAR and is hitting with much more power at a tougher field.
  13. One of the beat writers said the Nats offered Giolito straight up for Miller. Cash said he needed more. I get the greed, but if you're holding onto him for a playoff run, you're god damn delusional. We scored 2 runs in our last 2 games and this was with momentum and urgency. We're 4.5 out of a playoff spot, but also have two teams in front of us who are also on the outside looking in. This team isn't good enough to gain 5 games AND outpace one of the teams ahead of us who will invariably go on a run (Don't sleep on Houston, they're the best team in baseball since May 1).
  14. Rumors are saying they won't deal Beltran or Miller.
  15. Yankees, what the ever living f*** are you doing? One day left and you're going for broke for the playoffs?
  16. This is almost sad. Watching a guy who was as good as Lincecum come out as a still young man and pitch as poorly as he does.
  17. Bellhorn, I think the Price effect has to do with a combo of diminished stuff and hence diminished command in the strike zone. When velocity changes, your stuff changes as well. He hasn't adjusted
  18. Winning two games when scoring 3 or less runs is indicative of a bad rotation/staff
  19. Where you guys really got screwed is with Price. You pay a guy like that to be an ace, and right now, he should have a short leash for a demotion to the bullpen. You've lucked out to some extent with Wright, but his knuckler seems to be floating a little flat more often than it did the first 2 months of the season. The only way your rotation rights itself is if Price remembers that he is a former CY winner and not the pile of s*** he has been of late.
  20. Back to the pitching staff discussion, the sox are 6-5 since the ASB but at 24th in baseball in ERA since then at 4.41. Surprisingly, the best team in baseball in that time are the Yankees at 2.11. Since the ASB ERod- 18IP 19H 6ER 6BB 15K 3.00ERA 2.5K/BB 1.39WHIP Porcello- 13IP 10H 4ER 11K 3BB 2.77ERA 3.67K/BB 1.00WHIP Steven Wright- 18.2IP 16H 12ER 5BB 15K 5.79ERA 3.00K/BB 1.13WHIP David Price- 11.1IP 22H 8ER 5K 3BB 6.35ERA 1.6K/BB 2.21WHIP Pomeranz- 9IP 12H 7ER 4BB 11K 7.00ERA 2.75K/BB 1.78WHIP You're running into the same s***, 2 guys carrying the staff since the break, 3 guys sucking ass.
  21. We won't go full on rebuild, ever. We will see which kids can play and which cannot. We have Refsnyder, Sanchez, Judge, and Severino MLB ready. We have the wave behind them getting close. Gleyber is now the lead dog in the system and he's AA ready. We're close to building something especially with Didi going nuclear. Tanaka and Betances are young and we have a pretty young rotation sans CC. We need some young, all star level talent. You either grow it or trade for it these days. We'll start with growing it, and if the situation arises, we can deal for it
  22. McKinney is having a down year, but he's been a top prospect prior to this. High OBP guy with 20HR potential already at AAA. Torres looks like a future all star. Warren slots into the 7th and everyone else moves back. The last guy is a wing and a prayer athlete
  23. Billy McKinney also in the deal. This is a huge haul
  24. We get Warren back, who is lost in Cubs system. He was a really good setup guy before we traded him. I love Torres. Intrigued to see who the other two are.
  25. Have the sox ever had a 25/25 guy with 100+ runs and 100+ RBI?
