  1. They’re making that clearer and clearer by the start
  2. Honestly, I’m wondering if Pivetta might be the odd man out. He has looked awful. Cannot locate in and out of the zone and finds himself giving up too many homers
  3. I like the scrappy part of our lineup. Not so much the meat and potatoes of the lineup
  4. Whitlock just dragged his enormous balls out, slapped them on the table and dared the Sox not to start him again
  5. I have watched enough at bats of Gallo to know I don’t want to watch anymore. He’s awful
  6. Our offense is hot garbage
  7. Cashman last year had two things he needed to do. Get more left handed and make more contact. Rizzo fit that bill. Gallo only 1/2 of that mandate and actually with how bad his contact rate is, he cancels out any good Rizzo brought. This team can’t hit
  8. Shutout by Detroit. Abysmal. I feel for JMont
  9. Lol, exactly. We’ve hit one homer in 2 games in Detroit. It’s been cold, the wind has been blowing in and Detroit is a tough park for homers on a good day. You cannot continue with the same approach. He got lucky game 1 with the error. Game two was smarter. Will probably need more of the same today. Also, Cole needs to take lessons from Sevy last night. Sevy had his fastball, but he didn’t have bite on his breaking ball which meant he didn’t have a put away pitch. He still challenged hitters and got outs.
  10. Today, Aaron Boone was very good. I know, I know, I think he had one of those Will Ferrell Old School out of body experiences. When was the last time a Yankee team had multiple bunts in the same game? He moved runners. He manufactured runs. When you’re not hitting, you gotta manufacture and for one game, Boone did just that
  11. We “knocked out” the starter after 1 inning. The second pitcher they had got hurt. Yanks were given 8 free passes and a 2 run error. And they still only scored 4 runs. There’s a fundamental flaw to this offense. When conditions do not favor the longball, the offense goes silent. They can’t manufacture. They’re allergic to contact. Too many black holes in the lineup. Thank god for amazing pitching.
  12. Once he walked bases loaded and had Schmidt up, you gotta pull him. Cole is an investment. It’s April. The weather is bitterly cold and the guy cannot get the feel for his pitches. Protect the player
  13. Cole has no command today
  14. Hill does not look good. His in zone command in both his starts just isn’t there and his breaking balls move a lot but don’t seem to have the late life to fool good hitters. If he wasn’t 42, most people would preach giving him some time, but eventually the body isn’t able to handle the grind. He might be at that point. He should have allowed more runs
  15. Add Bruce Zimmerman to the list of downright nasty starters to stymie the yanks offense.
  16. Cora is using Houck perfectly. He goes through 2 times and gets yanked. He’s a very effective pitcher two times through
  17. Yanks should have scored 10 tonight. Still struggling with RISP, but nice to see the comeback. This pen is f***ing nasty. Sears adds to the list of hard throwing lefty pitchers. It’s gonna be hard for the Yanks to whittle this thing down to 26 by May. Sears, legitimately, is a candidate to be a starter. He’s got three dominant pitches and averages nearly 96 on the gun.
  18. First two runners reach. What do we do? Get caught stealing third with no outs and dive bomb the inning!
  19. Which by the way, why the f*** would you bring him into a bases loaded walkoff situation needing to get two outs after the yips he showed vs Toronto? Might as well have left Schmidt in there
  20. Chapman is still a good reliever. He just gets the yips and when he does, you need to pull him out of situations. He is also a FA after the season, so it isn't like we are married to him beyond 22
  21. All you needed was 2 runs vs the lowly orioles but you couldn’t get that. Joke of a team
  22. Sox bats aren't hot yet. They'll mash
  23. Severino was nails yesterday. He was touching 100mph and had the Jays on their heels. We still cannot hit, but 3 runs scratched across via small ball was a welcome surprise. I’m glad Boone had more urgency with Chapman. When he’s on, he’s unhittable. But when he’s got the yips, he needs to be removed
