    The sox are a pitching first team. Against Houston, the offense would have to show up and the pitchers would need to step up. Today, your offense left opportunities out their, your base running ended a rally early, and your ace sucked plain and simple. You had to win one of these first two in Houston. Barring a rally, you’re gonna have to hope for Pom and his career high IP to outduel Keuchel

    I get his logic. If the sox are up 2-1 prior to game 4, Porcello throws and Sale goes extra rest game 5. If the sox are down 2-1 for game 4, then Sale goes in elimination game and Pom goes full rest game 5

    Judge doesn’t have to be lefty to be awesome. He misses balls and still pulls them out of the stadium to LF. If he was a lefty, though, he might hit an extra 10 bombs by accident

    CC had to learn how to be a pitcher when his fastball didn’t average 89mph. He’s had a bit of a resurgence in velocity now sitting at 91 and his stuff plays up at the better velocity. Two starts ago, he was topping out at 94-95, something I hadn’t seen from him in years. If old CC can make a short return, then we’ve got something

    We dealt away Kaprielian, Clarkin and Littel during the season yet our pitching didn’t seem to suffer. We have an insane amount of arms. One guy I totally whiffed on in my rankings, btw, is Canaan Smith. Our 4th rounder out of HS this year had a very solid debut in the GCL. For an 18 yr old, he showed power and patience that usually comes with a bit more age. 57 games .289/.430/.422 with 5HR and 5SB. He’s a good athlete with big power projection and a sweet lefty swing. He walked more than he struck out as well. With our system lacking a bit of position player depth in the lower levels, he should be able to pop quickly if he continues hitting.

    Fifth starter is usually left off unless he’s a reliever who was stretched out to start. Fister or Porcello would be bad pen options anyway. You’re gonna have to pick one
