  1. We need to get through the fifth with KRob then bring in a starter.
  2. Santana coming back out? Ron Gardenhire lives!!
  3. I think we might be seeing a battle of the second or third starters. I think Berrios has to come in for Minnesota. They don't have the relief depth to get through the next 8. NYY can toy with that idea, or we can stretch Green through 3, Warren for 2, then Kahnle, Robertson, Betances and Chapman. But I assume CC or Gray come in for a few
  4. Big spot for Green there. We need to come out hitting. Sevy had nothing
  5. If he can not locate the slider, it’s time to pull him
  6. He doesn’t have his slider
  7. Minnesota gets knocked out in 3. A NYY-CLE series should go 5. You don’t want a rested and well set up staff going into the alcs
  8. BA is rolling out their top 20's for each league. AAA has two leagues, the IL and the PCL. Top 20 IL prospects #9 Chance Adams #15 Miguel Andujar #16 Clint Frazier BA did say that the IL is stacked this year compared to the PCL, but still strange to think there are 15 better prospects in the IL than Frazier, but I digress. Adams had a hell of a season, but did start off in AA and he tired as he reached his innings cap. Andujar burst onto the scene and his combo of contact and power is impressive. He is young, but his warts are his lack of walks. Frazier spent half the season in the bigs, but he has a ways to go before he hits his ceiling. Either way, for a team with such young big league talent and having dealt away what we did to have 3 top 16 guys in the IL is impressive to say the least AA There are three leagues in AA, the Eastern League, the Texas League and the Southern League Top 20 EL #10 Miguel Andujar #11 Justus Sheffield #12 Domingo Acevedo Strange to see three in a row, but Andujar really shouldn't be classified here as hes already in the rankings in AAA. Sheffield had a very solid AA season as did Acevedo. A+ 3 leagues in High A, the Carolina League, the California League and the Florida State League #7 Dillon Tate #14 Nick Solak Tate re-established his prospect status and Solak bashed his way out of the FSL by seasons end A Two leagues in the A division, the South Atlantic and the Midwest #2 Estevan Florial In the comments section, they did say Freicer Perez just missed the top 20. A Short Season There are two leagues in the Short Season section, the NY Penn League and the Northwest League Top 20 NYP #2 Jorge Guzman #9 Trevor Stephan #14 Juan De Paula #16 Oswaldo Cabrera They haven't done rookie ball yet, but the talent here is undeniable for sure
  9. I’d put the sox at 25% chance to beat the Guardians. I’d put the Yankees chances to beat the Stros at maybe less than that. If you want to win a World Series, you’re gonna need some help in getting by Cleveland. We’re the only ones who can help you there
  10. So you’d rather your team lose than the Yankees win?
  11. Here’s the thing that I don’t get from sox fans and something I’ve already admitted on my playoff spots. I clearly don’t think “rooting” for a team makes any difference on the game, but it does change perspective. Would any sox fan want the Yankees to lose, even if it damages their team’s playoff hopes? If the Twins pull off the upset tonight, then they’re going to get smashed by the Guardians. Santana and Berrios are their only two good starters and Santana would be relegated to a single game. Kluber and Carrasco will already have a 2-0 lead on the Twins by the time Santana returns. If the Twins win tonight, you are effectively getting the Guardians with their rotation intact. If the Yankees win, then all bets are off. You’re still getting the Guardians in terms of likelihood, but there’s a far greater chance of a Yankees upset and a far better chance that Kluber has to throw twice and likely delayed until game 3, which is always good. Also, if the Yankees win tonight and win the series with the Guardians, then the sox have a far greater chance to win the AL as any Yankee-Sox series is destined for 7 and when there’s a game 7, anything can happen. I cannot stand the sox. But if the Yankees win tonight, I am rooting for them to beat Houston because I know my team will have a better shot at a World Series with Houston out of the way. I anticipate sox fans who are rational would think the same way about NYY vs CLE, but how many rational sox fans are there, right? Lol I know this is in the Yankees thread too, but I put it in the wrong place initially. Reposted for self fellating...
  12. No Sano! He’s off the roster
  13. Interesting. They’ve either told him to run gingerly or that he’ll be PR for if he reaches base Oops read it wrong

  15. I meant Price, not Kelly.
  16. Mark Lemke might be the best example. He was a .246/.317/.324 career hitter, but in the postseason, he elevated his game to .272/.335/.353 and this was in 257PA's.
  17. There is only one way the sox win this series aside from a total Houston meltdown. They MUST be willing to go to Kimbrel in the 8th inning. You're not shutting down the offense for the whole series. If you have a lead in the middle innings, don't be afraid to go to Kelly and Reed then hand the ball to Kimbrel in the 8th. You MUST lock down any late inning leads you have and if that means you roll with the best closer in baseball for more than 3 outs, so be it. There will be at least one game where the Stros bats just explode and you won't keep up. As long as that game isn't an elimination game, let it go without burning Kimbrel. If you go 5, and throw Kimbrel 6 innings in the series (2IP for 3 appearances), then you roll with any fatigue that sets in on him. 5 game series' are tough, especially when you don't have home field and when you are facing a superior offense and a team that can match or better your staff, especially up front. This is going to be a hard series for the sox to win. If the Yankees take the game tonight, I will be rooting for it.
  18. Sevy needs to be on his game tonight. Santana is a good pitcher and he always gives a good outing against us. The thing with him is working the count. We worked his count this year and got him out after 5.2IP. The Twins dealt away their closer at the deadline and Glen Perkins is a shell of himself. If we can match the Twins through 5, get Santana out in the 6th and turn the ball over to our beefed up pen, we win.
  19. Herein lies the problem with the clutch argument. If someone appears to rise to the occasion, then the sample size is too small. If the numbers support that clutch doesn’t exist, then that’s fine in their eyes. I played baseball at a high level. Clutch exists, but maybe when you get to the super high levels, everyone is so talented that only a few people truly rise and only a few people truly fall. Also, the problem with the “clutch” argument is that you’re usually facing an elite pitcher in clutch time. Nobody considers a guy clutch when he cranks a 3 run homer in the second inning, even though it’s just as important as a 3 run bomb late. If someone’s OPS drops by .100 points after the 7th, it may not be the hitter, it could just be the fact that the pens are loaded with good arms late nowadays. Regardless, I think we can all agree, Ortiz was clutch. ARod was not
