  1. just missed. s***
  2. We've started to make some good contact this inning
  3. Swihart was awful and is most likely done
  4. The umpire is awful. He is giving a LOT of space low and that is good for both pitchers
  5. We will know early. If Tanaka has his splitter, then we are good. If it is hanging, he’ll have trouble getting 3 outs
  6. 2 of our top prospects can play 3b. I doubt we spend heavy for another right handed bat in Yankee stadium when we have top prospects in that spot to take over. I think OF is more likely as our next major prospect won't be ready by 2019 and Harper is available and is lefty
  7. Dusty Baker about the be fired as well
  8. Tanaka vs Keuchel.
  9. CC is a FA. We definitely can sign Darvish and stay under the cap, my only question is whether Darvish will be worth it. He wasn’t great this year and has been injury prone. He’ll want to be paid as an ace
  10. Severino was a CY contender. CC had a really good year. Gray is a solid #2. Tanaka is a lot better than his 2017 numbers showed. Montgomery had a very solid rookie campaign. I think you might be in denial. Our SP was a lot better than anyone could have imagined
  11. This is a damn good team and one that has the depth behind it to continue to be good. We aren’t in a typical Yankee position where we have to sign someone. We’ve got minor league depth beyond anything I’ve seen. We can make trades or we can promote from within. This is a dangerous spot for us to be in, playing with house money with a young, good team
  12. If the sox sign JD, what do you think his contract will be?
  13. It should be. Houston has more now talent, but if we can get in a fight of the pens, we have them. We need to take 1 in Houston and that is no easy task.
  14. John Farrell deserved to be fired. You can debate the performance all you want. I think the performance was good enough to hang on, but the clubhouse was a disaster. Your coach has to have accountability. How are you accountable when you leave your wife and are banging a NESN reporter? How is that accountable? You stay silent while Pedey effectively alienates his team in the Machado fiasco. You stay silent when David Price rips into a HOF broadcaster because he cannot take some criticism. This team had no leader and in those cases, you need your manager to lead, and Farrell isn't a leader. There were rifts all over the place. Farrell was being classified as a terrible communicator by an unnamed player in the locker room. Once a manager loses the locker room, he is useless and had to go.
  15. There is no way he opts out after 2020 unless a new CBA is ratified with inflated lux tax salaries. After 2020, he is guaranteed $218 mil over 7 seasons. At 31 years old, he isn't beating that
  16. Ortiz isn't putting a jersey on again, book it. He likes being in his suit analyzing. There is almost no reason for great players to return to the dugout. And there are very few elite managers who were HOF talents.
  17. Bradley is what he is. 2016 was the anomaly. He's going to be a 2-3WAR player who will hit a touch better than the average CFer and play lights out defense. You don't need to platoon him. But you also shouldn't be lulled into thinking he can be a middle of the order bat. He hits 8th or 9th in a good lineup and you live with the middling offensive production
  18. Manny Machado in Boston would be a deadly force. 30HR for 3 straight years, gold glove defense, some speed when he is healthy. He is the kind of offensive talent you need
  19. I am still in shock as well. This Yankee team has been pushed to the ropes and responded many times. They are now 4-0 in elimination games. They beat Carlos Carrasco (well not him technically), Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber to advance. They battered Kluber twice. Andrew Miller took a loss by giving up a HR to a lefty. After 8 seasons of no NYY magic, this team is showing some fight. I couldn't be happier right now
  20. DD isn’t an “outside the box” thinker. He’s not a guy who regularly deals big league talent for big league talent. He’s a guy who either deals kids for proven vets or when he rebuilds, the other way around. His only two outside the box deals involved getting Scherzer (huge win) by dealing Granderson and getting Greene in the Didi deal by dealing Robbie Ray (big loss).
  21. Thanks Bellhorn
  22. Otani is the great Japanese white whale. Nobody knows where he’ll land. But if we get him, we might not do much more
  23. We have options on the hill and I expect us to use them. I’d be wary of going to CC in this series. All that right handed power, then again Cleveland had that too. Our pen arms need to enjoy this but be ready. We need Betances to get his s*** straight in the side sessions. We will need all that we have in this series. Houston has owned us since Keuchel reinvented himself. This is a very weird feeling. When the Yankees were trudging through the playoffs in years past, they were expected to win. This year, I thought we’d miss the playoffs and build. The fact that we’re ALCS bound is absolutely mind blowing
  24. I go Tanaka and Severino in games 1-2. Sabathia goes game 3 and Gray game 4
