  1. You guys are done with trades. Pearce effectively brought you to the cap. Any deal going forward has to be dollar neutral
  2. CC gets by on soft contact. He gets ahead of hitters then gets them to swing at a good pitch in the zone or a pitch out of the zone. His command is impeccable and the movement he generates is ridiculous. The best way to hit CC is to hit him early in the count when he is trying to get ahead. Once he is ahead, it's lights out
  3. You guys are done upgrading. Bringing in Pearce got you right up to the final threshold. Phillips is a minor league signing, and if his guarantee is above the minimum, that might put them over too (although I doubt it). The sox team is who they are. I anticipate Phillips will be starting at 2b a lot. I also anticipate the sox sitting JBJ against lefties with Pearce moving to LF and Beni moving to CF. You got some guys who aren't auto-outs. Tonight, though, the lineup with Nunez-Devers-Vasquez-Bradley is not good. 1-12 with a HBP.
  4. And the Yanks' bats showed up. CC dominated. The pen closed it out. The kids led us, but Bird coming out of it will be huge!
  5. Gets out of it. CC was dominant!
  6. Why is CC still in vs Betts? Cmon Boone!
  7. Torres and Andujar are 4-4 with a sac fly, a triple and a HR
  8. Once CC starts leaving pitches up, he is cooked
  9. The Yanks took a lot of center cut fastballs first time through. I've seen him against us before. He's usually outside corner and low with that mid 90s gas and then drops changeups out of the zone
  10. That first pitch to Betts should have been second decked
  11. Thumbs are better than wrists.
  12. He needs to work on his command. He doesn't have the consistent ability to stay out of the center of the zone. Hence, he nibbles and would rather miss off the plate than go into the zone. Tonight, he wasn't nibbling at all. Everything was center cut and he was creamed
  13. It's center, center. Not sure why Cora is leaving him in vs Judge sorry, it is Hicks, not Judge
  14. When CC doesn't have the cutter and breaking ball working, he gets lit up. He didn't have them working last time. He does tonight
  15. He's having his best season. Lowest FIP and xFIP and best K rate. He just isn't hitting his spots tonight
  16. He got away with a lot of fastballs up the first time around. He did not get away with them the second time around
  17. You'll get one tomorrow most likely. We score any more and this is over. Never underestimate the sox offense, but our pen is good
  18. Not true. He doesn't have the location to not nibble. There's being aggressive and then there is leaving cockshots down the middle. You leave 95 down the shoot and you're gonna get lit up
  19. CC just needs 3 more outs. Preferably 6. The kids will lead us!
  20. The guy always hits us for some reason
  21. It took him years to perfect that. There is a reason why his exit velocity is one of the lowest in baseball.
  22. You cant walk Beni here. Bad move from CC.
