  1. He is a bridge as he is ineligible for the postseason
  2. Anyone thinking the sox are gonna blow this up are crazy. Your GM is not a "blow it up" kind of guy unless management forces a firesale. If the sox fade this year, he will likely be going after 2020 with a similar squad and hope for better results. If anything, the sox will add this season. If they fade out of the race, they will likely just deal off parts that wont be on the team in 2020 (Porcello, Moreland), or would add parts that would figure into 2020
  3. Marchand blew it with 7 seconds left. Stay on the ice and defend
  4. How does that get through Rask? edit: Didn't see the redirect
  5. Blues goalie is standing on his head. The Bruins are just peppering him and he is stopping everything
  6. Not at all. EE is the guy. Or if the Guardians fall out further, then Carlos Santana
  7. 4 minutes in, the Bruins look to be the clearly better team
  8. Time heals all wounds my friend. It also brings wisdom. I came on this site as a brash douchebag who would literally get steaming angry when someone would come at me. Age mellows all and teaches us good lessons. This is a message board we all voluntarily come to and shoot the s*** on. If it is significantly painful to come, then why come at all? A better mindset made this place incredibly tolerable and very fun to be a part of
  9. It is gonna be really hard to do so and improve the team. If Porcello gets re-signed, you're staring at the same team now minus Moreland and Pearce with no other upgrades.
  10. Lance Lynn is a decidedly average starter who got torched by the Sox last year.
  11. Thicker skin ladies and gentlemen. There’s only one way to survive in enemy territory as long as I have and that’s to not give a s*** if someone comes at you on a board. Nobody is going to hurt you. It’s all keystrokes. Relax
  12. Second procedure at MGH likely an exploratory laparotomy to see what was actually done and to ensure no leakage. What’s been leaked to the media sounds promising for David.
  13. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/39545391
  14. Did you see the pitch he missed vs the Yanks? He’s amazingly bad
  15. Paxton has been trash since he returned.
  16. The prospects you do have in house have talent, but none are high likelihoods to hit. Add in the contracts on the books and the room you will have is limited. Consider this Eovaldi- $17 mil AAV Price- $31 mil AAV Sale- $29 mil AAV Bogaerts- $20 mil Pedroia- $14 mil Vaz- $4 mil JDM- $22 mil That's $137 mil Mookie is due for a huge arb raise in his final year. Even if his season in 2019 is down, arb counts the last 2 and he is gonna get close to $28-$30 mil there. Arb predictions Mookie- $28 mil Beni- $5 mil Barnes- $4 mil Bradley- $10 mil Hembree- $3 mil ERod- $8 mil Workman- $5 mil (if he continues pitching well, he will be an arb 3 hence the higher number) That's another $63 mil. Add in the $15 mil in medicals and you are at $215 mil right there. I am assuming the sox move on from Wright and Leon and fill every other spot with a pre arb player and Pedroia is on the DL. That adds 13 league minimum salaries ($500K about) which gets you to $222 mil. $208 mil is the threshold of note here. That leaves the sox with $26 mil to improve the team. I am assuming Moreland and Pearce move on and are replaced by Chavis. I am also assuming Porcello leaves and is replaced by Johnson. You'll have the space for one good addition. Now, if you create a hole by releasing or dealing JBJ, different story
  17. Radio silence on both. Not good
  18. Those are the guys you get the most bang for your buck for. Paxton had two years of control. Haniger is gonna move if he’s healthy. Book it
  19. Imagine what your rotation will look like when Porcello is out of it?
  20. I watched to the top of the 9th when the Rangers scored. The Sox seemed content with the 2 runs from Beni. Angel Hernandez’ missed call really hurt the Sox. Barnes cannot close. Brasier’s career has struck midnight. The pen creation from DD has finally run out of time. Without a closer, the pen is going to struggle going forward vs the best teams. I have heard a lot of criticism over the Yanks schedule, but the fact is, the Sox schedule has been just as bad up to now. The better hitting teams are on the docket and the pitching will need to be up to the task. The Sox pen has been a paper tiger till now, but they’re now heading towards a gas can with a blowtorch.
  21. Chris Sale is just toying with these batters. The Rangers offense is top heavy, led by a juggernaut in Gallo. Gallo on the DL has exposed this team. The bottom of their order is abysmal
  22. Judge to start a rehab this upcoming weekend. Stanton to start tomorrow.
  23. MGH, otherwise known in these parts as “God’s Hospital”. He’ll be in great hands. I’ve worked with some of their trauma surgeons before.
  24. They start dealing off their guys and they'll be worse than their 12-37 swoon. EE is gonna move. I expect the M's to move Haniger as well once his nut heals. If Gonzalez got his s*** straight, he'd be moved too as I think Dipoto is going to try and build a power pitching staff and a garbage tosser isn't gonna work. The M's have a big time drop and they may end up as the #2 pick next year
