  1. To this point, the mocks have been right.
  2. Hey mods. Can you move this to the prospect forum?
  3. HS BA’s don’t tell you that much. Trust me. I hit nearly .600 my junior year, and I wasn’t pro material, lol
  4. Right, if you have a good stick, you’ll find your way into a lineup. There are some guys who start off with weak bats and develop into good hitters. Those guys are rare, but everyone dreams on them because they’re the rare ones who become MVPs. I’ll take the kid who is gonna be a 3B/1B who I know can hit now and should hit later
  5. Getting back to the original projection, I love the idea of Callihan. Lefty power, good bat, older HS player with a good arm but questions about where his glove plays out. I’ll take the kid who can hit and has issues fielding over the kid who cannot hit but is a great athlete
  6. There’s definitely some ridiculousness to this. In Leiter’s case, he’d be able to lean on those developing him as he’s in the Yankee family. Who knows if it’s some power trip or not
  7. Volpe and Leiter both have "let it be known" per a few of the mock draft creators, that they want to stay on the east coast. Leiter has said he would only sign with NY to forgo Vandy. Leiter has the opportunity to pick his spot as dad is loaded. Volpe, not so much
  8. I like to look at the tools added to the team. I am especially intrigued because of the added Cincy pick plus the altered rules on players selected beyond the 10th round. When the rules started, anything over $50K was counted. Now it's $125K. It allows for draft savings in those second tier (5-10) rounds to be used either to entice later signings
  9. Hinds I have seen in nearly all mocks going before the Yanks select at 30. I have seen Lugo mocked in the sox range in some of the draft mocks. The others I have heard of transiently, but none consistently mocked in the first round.
  10. I honestly think you are going to see your 3 division winners be well over 100 wins. The Astros and Twins could be 110 game winners just due to the absolute trash that is that division, especially if the A's and Guardians don't turn it on. Some middling clubs will benefit from the tankers and should bump up their win totals, but I think we are seeing a pulling away of the top teams and the tankers, leaving a small amount of middling squads to push upwards. Right now, the Yanks, Rays, Twins, and Astros are the top tier in the AL. The Orioles, Royals, Jays, Mariners, and Tigers are the tankers. This leaves the Red Sox, White Sox, Angels, A's, Rangers, and Guardians in that middle tier. Of the middle tier, I expect the White Sox, Angels, and Rangers to end up in the 90 loss range mostly due to their abject lack of depth. This means the Red Sox, A's and Guardians are the only 3 in the "middling" group that are going for it that seem to have the talent necessary to win a playoff berth. By the deadline, one of those three will fade behind the other 2 and be sellers. In my estimation, the tankers, plus the early season fakers, plus the late falling middling team will comprise the sellers in the AL. By Aug 1, I expect 9 of the 15 teams in the AL to sell off their parts to the other 6 (plus the NL) and the baseball to be played beyond Aug 1 will be abysmal 60% of the time.
  11. Ah, crap. I thought I was in the minor league forum.
  12. Last I checked, the Sox will be picking tonight, so it fits.
  13. Sox with pick #43. Yanks with picks #30 and 38. Haven’t seen any good mocks out to the Sox pick. Have seen the latest CBS mock that has the Yanks picking Tyler Callihan from Providence HS in Florida. Lefty power hitter who plays 3b. Everyone seems to think Jack Leiter is untouchable, but there’s a rumor that he will only break his Vandy commit for the Yanks. We will find out tonight
  14. They changed the format because there was literally no impediment for a wild card team beyond loss of home field. Too many wild card teams were winning the pennant. They wanted to make your division worth something. My yanks have been in the WC game three times already, going 2-1.
  15. We truly have this game to you. Frazier’s OF play and the shittitude of Cessa blew this game open. If we had everyone, that’s a Kahnle spot
  16. Well, I told you guys our pen was not lined up well. They let in the last four runs with help from our inept RFer. I’ll take a series win
  17. Holy f*** Frazier is awful
  18. Frazier is a joke out there
  19. Frazier showing up why he gets replaced in the OF. He is an awful fielder
  20. CC with a good start. Price was better
  21. That was incredibly stupid. Hicks didn’t break on the throw. Dumb f***
  22. Urshela is so clutch
  23. A sweep when we are giving you the game would be unfathomable. I’m clearly a fan of the empire, but even I expect a loss tonight
  24. You’re gonna be give every opportunity to win tonight. We have a 5 inning pitcher fresh off a DL stint on the hill and none of our vaunted relievers ready to take the ball. We should be without Ottavino, Kahnle, Britton and Chapman and will likely need 4 innings from our pen best case. The Sox also have their best pitcher going. If this isn’t a setup for a Sox victory, I don’t know what is
