  1. Kennedy through 5IP, 2H, 1ER, 4K 0BB. Kid is dynamite.
  2. Willits stings one right at Coco. Schill has nearly nothing tonight.
  3. Jeff Mathis, a guy with a BA under .200 DRILLS a FB off the monster for a double.
  4. Go Walpole. Saw the catch when the game was on. Sick. Show em what New England can do.
  5. Kevin Cash will catch Julian Tavarez tomorrow and Wake on Monday. I wonder how Wake fares without Belli. And I also find it interesting that in a game when the sox most likely will need a lot of O (with Tavarez pitching), they go to the inferior hitting catcher.
  6. Well, Schilling had 2 previously effective starts with good lines, but underlying it, you can see that Schill just isnt right. His last start, he didnt K anyone in 6 innings and Baltimore was hitting the ball well, just at em. Today, he is getting smakced all over the yard. His problem again is wildness in the zone. He still wont walk anyone, but when you miss the outside corner consistently by about 6 inches toward the middle of the plate, you wont fare well.
  7. Another EBH. Mathis with a chance to bring in another run.
  8. Random CHUCK NORRIS fact: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is based on a true story: Chuck Norris once swallowed a turtle whole, and when he crapped it out, the turtle was six feet tall and had learned karate
  9. Schilling touched early but escapes further damage. 1-0 Halos.
  10. HE'S BAAAAAAAACK YANKEES WIN 5-2
  11. whoa, been kinda watching and sleeping right now. Clemens looked dominant at times, then left a few up. He escaped well. We waited out Durbin and got him when he tired. Mariano for the 9th, lets see how he rebounds.
  12. You guys may have heard of this guy from last yr. He was a 2006 draft pick, highly regarded at the time who started out well in the NY Penn league and then was suspended for 50 games. His suspension was due to testing positive for ritalin. Apparently he is ADHD but failed to run his medication through the team at the time of signing and he tested positive in the piss test. Either way, the kid has been dynamite since his suspension. Essentially, he is a 24 yr old, tall, power armed kid who possesses a very solid sinker/slider combo. He sounds very similar to Masterson on your side and many people project him to be a middle reliever as well. Well, McCutchen started out the yr in A+ ball with Tampa, where he went 11-2 with a 2.50ERA. Surprisingly, his GO/AO was only 1.13 and his K rate was suboptimal in the 6 per 9IP range. But since his promotion to AA
  13. So much for showcasing. Kontos has had a rough go of it of late, essentially losing all control of his plus slider. He has been downright terrible for about a month now after starting out gangbusters. Projections have him repeating Tampa next yr to prove he is both healthy and can harness his stuff. The guy throwing now is not the guy who was dominating earlier.
  14. If we are the biggest threat to the sox then we are also the biggest threat to ourselves. As solid as this team has shown it can play, they also can get into funks where uncharacteristic errors are made and then just go ice cold with the bats while not pitching all that well either. When we are running at full steam, nobody is better than us. But that instance has been hit or miss this season.
  15. He has good stuff. Had instances where he lost the zone, but he'll be a good one. He reminded me a lot of Hughes, to be honest.
  16. If you mean top 3 talents in the league, then no. But in terms of dominance on a dominant team, then absolutely. He, Bedard, and Haren will duke it out for the CY this yr.
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7133450 So much for him leaving at the end of the yr. Worked out for him as he is about as hot a hitter as anyone in the game right now.
  18. I think Francona is coming down with Torre-itis. Who should go in for the 9th coach? Um, um, um, Farnsworth, I mean, um Gagne! He's good, right?
