    The only way Beckett throws game 4 is if the sox are in a 3-0 hole and need to rely on Beckett for 2 of the following 4 games. You dont take a pitcher who is being worked more than he ever has and then throw him on 3 days rest in a park that is one mile above sea level unless you have no other choice. His body will give out in the 4th.

    I think it depends on who is on the mound and where the series is at. If the sox get to Coors down 2-0, then they sure as hell will have Papi in there. Likewise, if it is a righty, then I expect Papi to be in there. Wouldnt be surprised to see Papi play games 3 and 4 while pinch hitting game 5 when Francis takes the hill, provided it gets that far.

    Melky shouldnt be a deal breaker, although I think he is a fine CFer and will only get better with age and experience. Kennedy shouldnt be a deal breaker either. I like the kid's poise and his command, but he isnt on the level of a Santana and doesnt have the stuff to ever be on that level. That being said, Wang IS a dealbreaker. Did he suck in the postseason, absolutely. But he has won 38 games in 2 seasons while keeping his ERA below 4. He is an innings eating groundball machine. And we saw what happens when you dont have innings eaters. Dealing Wang for Santana helps us only for October, and to be honest with you, I am worried about making the playoffs first. If we can align Santana and Wang atop the rotation, we'll hang with anybody.

    I saw it in the late 90s crunchy, so we are well aware. Even if you take this season, you are still only halfway to the yankee dynasty totals.

    Your team earned it. I still dont get how your offense can pound the piss out of Sabathia and Carmona, yet our offense gets tamed by them. Weird. EIther way, since you guys are pretty much a lock to win the WS, can you do it in a sweep so this ARod saga can end sooner. Seriously. WTF.

    He has already said that Philly is an option and they desperately need a 3b. And in terms of ARod, we shall see, but I have an eery feeling that he stays in the Bronx.

    04 was a long time ago against a much different team. I just think familiarity makes things much different. EIther way, I am just venting. I hate seeing Fenway be a place of celebration. But you guys earned it. Hell, coming back from 3-1 is tough. But could you at least leave one game in doubt?

    and my nightmare might come true. Red Sox, Patriots, BC all in one yr? I could barely stomach 04, but add in BC and I might vomit. And I like the Celts, but having them win it would also be too much to deal with. Boston shouldnt be titletown.

    3 run lead with Paps on the hill. Leave Becks for game 1. This thing is over. Game 1 is huge in the world series. If you guys take it, then you prove the Rockies are mortal and they will fold like the Yankees.
