  1. Tavarez gone and Buchholz on the DL. Colon isnt stretched out yet either. Who do they go to?
  2. Wang, Pettitte, and Moose. Not the best, but good enough. The 4 slot is the worry.
  3. Our two best hitters havent even taken the field in a half month.
  4. It may not have meshed well to start, but we still have 4.5 months left of the season, and this team has proven to be a second half club over the last 8 seasons. Consider this.... ARod and Posada have missed significant time this season, our two best hitters from 07 Robby Cano is on the interstate STILL Giambi is still on the interstate as well, even though the power and OBP are solid Shelley Duncan, Wilson Betemit, and Morgan Ensberg have seen significant playing time, yet have 2 homers between them and a near .200BA Phil Hughes pitched like s*** to start and is now out 2 months Kennedy couldnt find the strike zone and is in the minors Igawa has started a game, bleh We have lost one of our rookies likely for the yr who finally proved himself in a relief role (Alby) and we are still 3 games out of first. For you guys, Buchholz and Lester have been pretty good. Beckett has been solid. DiceK aside from his shortened outings has been lights out. Wake has been a better version of Wake, and OkiPap have put together a solid 45 days or so. Your offense has the most runs scored in the AL and the highest BA and OPS in all of MLB, by far. and you lead us by three games. Think about that. I for one think that this yankee team has a ton of untapped potential with more players coming down the pipe. The big question is whether it is realized this yr or next. If we continue to play inconsistent ball, then you will separate yourselves from us. If we get our guys back and get it rolling, you'll be in trouble.
  5. I am not saying he is going to be amazing or anything, I am just saying that he is one of their top org prospects whose power is developing, has a good eye and runs like the wind. 5 tool players who are improving as they move up through a system are not easily dealt for. Let alone for crap.
  6. Interesting that Cora was activated and Lowrie was sent down. I'd assume the sox are trying to create a market for either Lugo or Cora. With the way that Lowell, Lugo and Cora have been banged up thus far, it is pretty easy to assume that the utility guy will be getting a significant amount of playing time. We'll see where they go.
  7. Not even close. Fowler is likely an untouchable. There is no way they move him for a washed up long man.
  8. When your team goes to the playoffs SO MANY TIMES, you are going to set records for both futility and prosperity. Also, you cannot win them all.
  9. Inoa had another solid workout. Sits 91-94 and he doesnt turn 16 until September. Hence, he wont sign until September since you must be 16 to sign. The other big name is Yorman Rodriguez, a CF with 70 power and 5 tool talent. I know the yankees and sox are trying for both. Inoa reminds a lot of people of Felix Hernandez, except at 6'7" and only 15, he might end up being the height of RJ by the time he stops growing.
  10. Lowrie can handle the routine plays. His range is subpar for SS in the major leagues. But when your incumbent has good range, but flubs throws and routine plays on a regular basis, the net gain of starting Lowrie becomes apparent. If Lugo played to his last season's defensive standards, which were rather poor to begin with, then you might have a case to stick with him simply because he made most of the routine plays and a good amount of spectacular ones simply because of his range. But this yr, since he is on pace for 50+ errors, it might be a better defensive move to have Lowrie start. Not to mention the fact that Lowrie centers the ball more on a regular basis. I honestly think Lowrie ends up as a 3b or a 2b at the MLB level, and this debut only furthers his trade value. We'll see. With Pedroia locked in at 2b and Lowell locked in at 3rd, Lowrie may end up locking himself into SS by default, even though he really isnt a true SS.
  11. If DMats can keep his BB total down like this, he'll be dirty.
  12. Rasner's issue has never been effectiveness. It has been longevity. If he continues to keep his pitch count down and goes 5+ IP he will be effective as a #5.
  13. Rasner has been exactly what we need. Gives innings, keeps us close.
  14. a kiss of death, hardly. A slow start, yes.
  15. Montero went 3 for 6 including the GW HR in the 13th inning. On the yr he's hitting .326 and slugging .514 with 5HR as an 18yr old in long season. The BB totals are down though, as he only has 5 BB in 34G.
  16. 26, I'd like that idea if Wells wasnt totally done. Last season, he lost nearly all his velocity and he got shitstomped. He used to throw 88-92 and was still doing so in Boston and SD. When he went to LA, he was done. 84-86 and his change was equal to his heat. He just didnt have it anymore.
  17. the tigers look like they're going through the motions. What is sad is that this pathetic team will likely win our upcoming series. BLAH!
  18. If there werent any concerns over Waldman being a snake and filing a sexual harassment suit, the yankees never would have hired her. She is awful and never should have been Steiner's replacement
