  1. DJ makes em pay. 6-1 now. I'd pull CC and use Veras to see if he can get his confidence.
  2. I wouldnt even throw any off speed pitches the way he's throwin
  3. Hey Lind, it isnt about how hard you swing. Cmon man.
  4. Here's a chance to get some insurance. Cmon Yanks.
  5. I call 3 rocket singles to start the inning. Then 9 consecutive swings and misses. Sox win 2-1.
  6. The question is not, will the sox win this game. The question is, will Paps make it interesting or not.
  7. I see Ortiz has been, well, Ortiz tonight.
  8. first out at third. Back in college, if you made that mistake, your Saturday morning was spent running suicides until you puked.
  9. CC dealing again. The question is, who comes out for the 8th. He's at 105 pitches. Bruney is back. Mo had a day off yesterday, so who knows. Tomorrow is Hughes, so we might not need them.
  10. The Jays just cannot hit a knuckler. He is getting them up and they are missing them
  11. Why is this chump dominating our lineup?
  12. he has been thus far this yr
  13. The numbers he's putting up this season are fantastic at any position. .322/.390/.616. Thats a 1.006OPS, a number that would have led the AL last season. And he truly became a full time LFer last yr, when he put up an .836OPS with 29 steals and 95 runs scored. Prior to that, he was a full time CFer for the most part. So, while his value may have diminished since he's moved to LF, his production has actually improved.
  14. If Damon ends up with the above numbers, he'll have a bust in the HOF
  15. Last season, the yankees were 6-13 without ARod when he went down with a hip issue. This yr, the yankees were 13-15 without ARod. And in his absence, Tex started off ice cold. Seeing his OPS drop into the low .700s and his BA drop below .200. But all that changed once ARod came back. The Yankees have gone on a tear with Rodriguez, going 8-2. And a significant part of this is the offense provided by ARod and the protection he has provided for Tex. Tex is now hitting .342 since ARod's return and has crushed 5 homers in 10 games. He now has his OPS into the .870 range since he started this torrid pace. ARod, OTOH, has misleading stats. His BA is only .188. But his OPS is .958. His 10 walks and his 4 homers have a lot to do with that. This may be the start of a beautiful middle of the order for the yankees. But what the yankees need to do is find some protection for ARod. Even while its obvious his swing isnt back to normal, his walk totals are amazing. He has 42 plate appearances and has walked 10 times. Assume 600 plate appearances for a hitter and that comes out to 142 walks, which would be a new career high for him. That may come in the person of Matsui, who for about 2 week carried this offense but has since fallen on hard times. If he can get back to his 20 homer 100 RBI form, then this middle of the order would be absolutely deadly. They already have some significant help from #2 hitter Johnny Damon, who is seeing pitches like he has never seen before.
  16. Wow. Coke is really trying to give this f***ing game away
  17. Davis is a 3b though. Thats the thing. You are talking about a kid who is 24, can play both 3b and 1b and is a masher. No, he doesnt walk, yet. He might as his career moves on. But one thing that makes him more valuable than anything is that he's needed. Blalock is gone after the season. Davis plays 3b well. And that opens up first for Smoak.
  18. Fenway park is not your standard park either. A righty with those distances would have the same amount of homers. If you go by a normal park, not one that starts out at 302 and then juts out to 388 rather quickly, most of those are homers.
  19. Have you seen most of his homers? They arent cheap. He's hitting the piss out of the ball. I wouldnt be surprised if Damon got some hCG as well.
