  1. it typically takes 24 to 48 hours for a deal to be finalized and the player has 72 hours to report after it is.
  2. Now, is this a move to put the sox over the top? Probably not. It is a depth move that has a chance of being an impact move if LaRoche gets it together in a pennant race. But these types of moves have potential impact from both the acquisition itself and the shakeup of the team.
  3. This is a really good move IMO. They get a 1b who isnt Aaron Bates or Jeff Bailey. A guy who has the capacity to hit 20+ homers and play fair to good D and a guy who gives insurance when Lowell's hip finally falls apart. And they do it without giving up any players who matters in their minors.
  4. Nick Green can play the OF IIRC
  5. Yankees lead 4-0 in the first
  6. I doubt the sox offer him arb unless he lights it up. He's making 7 mil, so I doubt he'd get anywhere near that on the open market, so he might accept it. At which point, the sox could be on the hook of 7+ mil for a non-starter.
  7. diaz and strickland are not on the prospect map right now.
  8. Well, it was a buy low. I think LaRoche is a FA after this season and he certainly isnt playing well right now. But he's capable of being a middle of the order bat when he's on, so it is a good move for the price and especially with Lowell being fragile.
  9. 3 for 5 with a double. BA back up to .305
  10. interesting. I didnt even know you could do that
  11. some resident's lives are like that, but I remain faithful to my wife. But what I know remains in my brain and goes nowhere else
  12. nope. Thats John Sterling
  13. Kilo, I dont really have picks to make.
  14. Well, the yankees are surging again. We'll see how long it lasts. The good thing from a yankee perspective is that they did it right out of the box vs a division leader.
  15. haha a700. I have been here, but my schedule has sucked.
  16. the sox slip out of first on a night where I thought we'd be dropping a game
  17. Yankees win, THAAAAAA Yankees WIN!
  18. I know what its like. I saw the banhammer once. Coming into a new site and constantly attacking a long standing member is a bad idea. It may start out funny, but eventually the attacking spreads and before you know it, its forum vs newb and newb doesnt last. This is a Red Sox web site. Most all of us have some Massachusetts in us (and I live here). We are a group of thicker skinned, tough to love people who dont take s*** from anyone. Coming in and attacking off the bat is a great way to start a shitshow.

  20. Mitre did alright tonight. His own error caused a run early and Damon's miscue this inning added another run. But he showed a good slider and sinker tonight and certainly earned another start. Though, coming off TJ, Girardi may want to keep a pretty tight leash on him as he gets past the 5th
  21. Mitre giving some back here. 6-4.
