  1. wikipedia is inaccurate. He isnt a sock yet. The Mets can pull him back.
  2. You should send a nice gift basket to the West household for that run
  3. f*** Joe West, that was a strike in the top of the inning
  4. Penny doesnt have the breaking ball tonight. This is gonna be a loooong night for Brad
  5. That outside corner better translate to Pettitte
  6. Someone needs to kill Joe West
  7. Wow, I thought that was a tailor made DP
  8. another FB 6 inches off the corner. Wow, Pettitte better get that too
  9. Tito paying the umps again?
  10. if its hard for the yankees to win on the road, then its REALLY frickin hard for the sox to win on the road
  11. Wagner isnt a few hundred K. He has 3 mil left on his deal this yr and a 1 mil buyout on a 10 mil option for 2010. If the sox claim him, then this is a 4 mil move. I think this is a blocking move to keep Wagner from the Yanks
  12. missing 100 games in 3 yrs is a lot of time missed.
  13. actually, not a good use of the tool, cause I dont think the guy is gonna be good at all. But continue to be mindless drones using something ORS created and not thinking for yourselves. I expected as much
  14. Listen Dojji, this guy plays a position that requires power. His offensive numbers would be good from a middle infielder. Instead, we are talking about a 3b who isnt good defensively who likely profiles as a 1b at the major league level. That same guy has a low SLG for a corner IF and especially a 1b AND the sox already have VMart and Youk under contract, the likely 1b/3b combo for quite some time. So no, this kid doesnt have a Red Sox future, and likely has no major league future
  15. Soon to be 25 in AA with minimal developed power. He wont even make the majors.
  16. Another series win for NY going into the fens with your top 3 rolling. This should be fun.
  17. What a stupid post, but I expect nothing more from Gom. 1. Matsui wasnt getting traded. First of all, he's getting 13 mil a yr and coming off two consecutive injury plagued yrs. Second, he has a blanket no trade. Third, why in god's name would the Mariners deal Washburn, a player who is cheaper and more durable for an injury prone DH. 2. Abreu wasnt coming back after we declined to offer arbitration. AND, in your twisted reality, even if he did accept 1 yr 5 mil from us, he would have had to settle for a DH or reduced PT role AND we wouldnt have Tex. In conclusion, you are an idiot.
  18. Papelbon looks awful. Wells and Ruiz should have put the balls in the seats.
  19. You'd call the sox a stable big league team at this time? And their cadre of upper eschelon talent, where's that? Just joshing you. It is all about balancing the farm. First off, you pick the best talent available and the best players you scouted depending on their position. Remember, Selig is levelling some sanctions vs teams for going far overslot in the top 10 rounds. That's why there were so many long range guys drafted after the 10th round. Then, if you have similar talents, you need to figure out where they are gonna fall and where they slot in. With NY, we have a TON of talent in the GCL and in the DSL, meaning that the short season teams are gonna be loaded, especially in the pitching forum. So, getting college pitching would help bridge the gap in High A and Charleston while these guys figure it out in SI and the GCL.
  20. Biggest surprise IMO is the signing of Renfroe. Biggest talent left unsigned is Branden Kline, but he said he wanted upper 1st round money
  21. I go with Anderson to be totally honest. I think both give you the same terrible production, a sign that the better future player isnt ready. I'd stash Reddick in AAA for the rest of the yr and bring him up at the end of the Pawsox season
  22. The Yankees snuck HS LHP Evan DeLuca under the deadline. 44th rounder out of NY, DeLuca is a LHP with a big frame capable of sitting right around 90mph. He's got a good change and sinker and quite a lot of projection left. That adds some depth to the prep pitching slot.
