There's a reason why Palehosed.com has a "Dirty .230" (he actually finished the season sub-.230) tag for him.

First base is his best position defensively. Then LF/RF. Only put him in CF in an emergency (i.e. your starting CF goes down with an injury and he's just keepin' the spot warm until the AAA callup gets there).

Uh, no. I live in Chicago, I'm a White Sox fan and I saw him play this year. He wouldn't have been a starter this year if Jerry Owens hadn't pulled a hamstring the last week of spring training.

P.S. I heard that Reds GM Walt Jocketty says that Masset could possibly be a fifth starter. That might work in the National League, where they could pinch hit for him before he starts getting hit. Judging by the few starts he's made as a member of the White Sox, he can get through five innings. After that, there's a fight in the general vicinity of the bat rack.

Hey guys! My White Sox now officially have the slowest outfield in Major League Baseball. Griffey has lost several steps, Jermaine Dye has lost even more, and when you see Carlos Quentin running, that is not in slow motion. I would've loved to have acquired Junior ten years ago.

I watched most of the All-Star Game last night. I did so because: 1. There was nothing else on, and 2. Baseball is the most watchable of all the All-Star/Pro Bowl games I wouldn't watch the Pro Bowl or the NBA or NHL All-Star games if they were being played at the Catholic high school by me and admission was free.
