  1. The White Sox rotation is very lefty-dominant with Danks, Sale and Quintana. The righties they had last year were pretty putrid to watch. I also like the fact they addressed the bullpen. Nate Jones was supposed to be the closer last year but got hurt in spring training. That does have a ripple effect on the bullpen.
  2. White Sox acquire RP David Robertson
  3. Oakland close to trading Jeff Samardzija to the White Sox
  4. All those contracts are massively back-loaded. Toronto got suckered so bad in that deal you'd think Gord Ash was still their GM.
  5. That contract for a player who's already starting to decline? Pass.

  7. Don't know if this has been posted here but: Kid cries because Brent Lillibridge was traded I bet he has the same reaction when his favorite wrestler John Cena loses.
  8. Lillibridge is a decent bench player. Zach Stewart on the other hand is absolute crap. He'll be in the independent leagues in a few years. Dunn and Konerko switch off as 1B/DH. They just brought in Hudson to keep the seat warm. The regular 3B, Brent Morel, has a bad back that isn't getting any better.
  9. Philip Humber of the White Sox on April 21 at Seattle.
  10. Second one this season too.
  11. Matt Cain! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e140/mdf3530/200px-wwf_mr_perfect-1.jpg
  12. I believe this is the first perfect game that Fox Saturday Baseball has broadcast.

  14. Yeah, they've watered WWE down considerably from about 10-12 years ago. They now want to sell John Cena gear to (as WWE wrestler R-Truth put it) the "little Jimmys".
  15. I probably wouldn't last very long as a mod or an active member here since my first (and most likely last) act would be to reinstate Dipre.

  17. To tell the truth, I'd be in favor of MLB getting rid of the AL and NL altogether and going with geographically-aligned conferences and divisions like the NBA and NHL. Here's how I'd see it: Eastern Conference: Northeast Division: Yankees Mets Red Sox Phillies Blue Jays Southeast Division: Nationals Orioles Marlins Rays Braves Central Division: Tigers Guardians Reds Brewers Pirates Western Conference: Midwest Division: Cubs White Sox Cardinals Royals Twins Southwest Division: Astros Rangers Padres Rockies Diamondbacks Pacific Division: Angels Dodgers Giants A's Mariners The problem is it would require a commissioner with a functioning brain to pull something like this off.
  18. Thought I'd share this with you guys
  19. Fun fact: Al Michaels was traded from ABC to NBC for a cartoon character. Back before he created Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney was working under contract for Universal. One of the characters he created was Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. Even though Walt created Oswald, as part of the distribution deal he was owned by Universal. Fast forward to 2006. NBC, which had been recently acquired by Universal, won the contract for the NFL's Sunday night games. They wanted to bring in Al Michaels, who was under contract to Disney-owned ABC at the time, to be the play-by-play man. In exchange for letting Al out of his contract, Disney was awarded the rights to several characters including Oswald.
  20. Killed in a wreck at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
  21. UPDATE: White Sox hire Robin Ventura as new manager No coaching or managerial experience at any level. If this goes badly, it will be the nail in GM Kenny Williams' coffin.
