  1. Buehrle's going to deliver the Top Ten tonight on Letterman.
  2. He does work pretty quick. He doesn't do all that s*** other pitchers do, like stepping off the mound, removing his hat and wiping his forehead, going to the rosin bag after every pitch, etc. He gets the ball back and is ready to throw the next pitch.
  3. What sucks is that we could be down two games to them after tomorrow. They play a day-night DH in Detroit.
  4. Throw in the fact that we're now in a tie for first place (thanks, Seattle!) and this was a very good day in baseball for me.
  5. http://gridironexperts.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/200px-wwf_mr_perfect.jpg "Forget me, Buehrle is 'Mr. Perfect'."
  6. I'll take the MMA guy over the boxer any day of the week. Boxers only know one thing: punch the guy opposite you. MMAs know a variety of disciplines: boxing, wrestling (real wrestling, not WWE), all the various martial arts (mostly muay thai boxing and jiu-jitsu). Boxing also allows guys with probable concussions to take a standing 8 count. Any sign of an MMA fighter being unable to defend himself, the ref stops the match.
  7. Sorry, should've said that their pharmaceutical and medical industry standards are probably more lax than they are here in the U.S. Here in the U.S., doctors would face revocation of their licenses and jail time for prescribing testosterone and estrogen pills and other PEDs to otherwise healthy professional athletes.
  8. I would go with none. Well, it is a whole other country where the pharmaceutical and medical industry regulations are, shall we say, not what they are in the U.S.
  9. Game 1 of the Cubs-White Sox series postponed until tomorrow due to the buckets of rain coming down in Chicago.
  10. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad!
  11. Here's a pic: http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/ept_sports_mlb_experts__28/ept_sports_mlb_experts-876452004-1243458347.jpg?ymr8zUBDrP4ad9qs
  12. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AoH9lWVG2c0x1c4gNEpCiMcRvLYF?slug=ap-voteformanny&prov=ap&type=lgns Would I be correct in assuming Red Sox Nation has had something to do with this?
  13. Hi!
  14. Please ban this person
  15. Why am I picturing that one kid from "A Christmas Story"?
  16. I think you got the wrong thread Gom.
  17. I've posted this before but: US Cellular Old Comiskey Park Wrigley Olympic Stadium in Montreal
  18. There's a song by Arranmore, a Chicago-based Celtic/folk group, called "South Side Irish". One of the verses is as follows: We sing the songs our fathers sang As they were growing up Rebel songs from Erin's Isle And South Side Irish pubs And when it comes to baseball We have two favorite clubs The Go-Go White Sox and whoever plays the Cubs
  19. The deal is off. Peavy invoked his NTC. He must've seen the score of today's game. That was embarrassing.
  20. You do know that Mags has aged five years since 2004, right?
  21. I approve of this post.
  22. Poreda is one of the Sox' top pitching prospects. Richard is a throw-in.
  23. Welcome SaintGeorge! I am a fan of the Reds too. YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE
  24. I did not hear about that. I just heard Clemens' recent denials being talked about on WSCR in Chicago today.
