    So far this season, Helton and Youk have been pretty much the same players. Helton has been a bit better though (HeltonVORP: 23.5, YoukVORP: 22) and if you add that Youk is younger and cheaper, I'd say that Youk may have a bit of an edge. Sure, Helton is more likely to sustain this sucess, but at this point, there is absolutely no reason to move Youk.

    Agreed. Faithful was simply an OK book, not bad, not great. Now I Can Die In Peace was the best because 1) Simmons is a great writer and 2) it was really, really funny.

    Hirsh was one of the key components in the Jason Jennings deal (he and Willy Taveras). I highly, highly, highly doubt that they would trade him for Tavarez.

    Right now he sucks. But he is a Top 10 pick. He has only been playing basketball for like 5 years or something, so he is still extremely raw. NBA team's see that he is not developed at all, he is just getting by on a pure physical talent right now. If they draft him, they can develop him their own way, which is a very attractive option for some teams.

    Yesterday: 34 Sox batters saw a combined 101 pitches. That's 2.97 pitches per PA. Horrible.
