  1. fine... but I still think they should expose him to the majors in September
  2. I think he would be an upgrade over Gonzalez offensively
  3. Pedroia is really getting that AVG up. Hopefully he'll get hot so we can call him up!
  4. lol. I think we can live with Lester and Pauley for a couple weeks.
  5. Ellsbury is much, much better then Murphy. Murphy is good, but not better then Wily Mo, Coco or Manny I see Murphy as a 4th outfielder for us in the future. When Manny's contract is up this is what I would like to see if we let Manny walk: Wily Mo Ellsbury Coco Murphy as the 4th outfielder
  6. personally, i don't think Zito is the stud ace everyone else makes him out to be. If I were Billy Beane, I would've pulled the trigger on a deal like Zito for Lastings Milledge if it was offered. He had the Cy young season, then a couple more good/solid seasons. If the Yankees pay 60/70/80 million for this guy it won't be that bad because, in my opinion, a Schilling-Beckett-Wakefield combo is better then a Johnson-Mussina-Zito combo.
  7. UNC won in a great game. I don't know how Bard pitched. I started watching in the 7th and it was 4-2 'Bama and Bard wasn't in.
  8. are you forgetting pedroia or do you just think he's not gooD?
  9. i really like how Gibbons uses B.J Ryan. In a lot of tight games, he is not afraid to bring Ryan in to get a 4/5/6 out save. That's the way it should be done.
  10. i think the rockies should still consider trading Helton while he can still get you a couple valuable prospects in return. The Rockies are good, but I think they should continue to think about the future and not trade their 'spects for veterans who won't help in a year or two. The trade for Matsui is the kind of trade they should make, trades that won't hurt you that much if they don't work at all.
  11. ohhh yeah. i forgot manny delcarmen. i knew i was forgetting someone. On my list, I would put delcarmen after lowrie. my updated list: Lester Hansen Pedroia Ellsbury Lowrie Delcarmen Bowden Murphy Van Buren Soto Soto is in there because what he could be, his tools are supposed to be very promising.
  12. Scratch that idea. Coco is turning it on. As of tonight in teh 4th inning, Coco has 2 hits and has extended his hitting streak to five games
  13. Who do you think the top 10 prospects are in the Sox system? I'm not going to include draft picks. Lester Hansen Pedroia Ellsbury Lowrie Bowden Murphy Soto ? ? I'm not really sure who to put at 8-9-10. Soto may not be deserving of a spot in the top 10
  14. the d-backs won't trade him if they're in contention. Even if Drew comes up and is fantastic, the D-backs would be wise to keep him as a bench player where he would be very valuable.
  15. a good sign though is that he is still walking more then he K's (23 BB, 17 K's) so at least he's getting wood on the ball
  16. yeah, im pumped to see him start. Hopefully Hansen will pitch also. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hansen come in if Lester goes 5 or 6 innings.
  17. the giants don't have anyone worthwile besides Bonds and Schmidt. I wouldn't be willing to trade Lester or Hansen + Snow for Schmidt and we wouldnt't need Bonds if they even decided to trade him. We shouldn't call up Hee-Seop because he needs more time at AAA to refine his swing so we can maybe move Youk back to 3B once Lowell breaks down(im not saying he will this year, but eventually he will). Trade Snow for a reliever or pinch runner and pick-up a okay reserve 1B on the cheap from a team that is falling out of contention.
  18. Not about the Sox, but about the Yanks. There are speculations that the Brewers may trade Carlos Lee (espn mlb index, rumor central). I think the Yanks would show immediate interest in him given their current outfield situation. For them to have interest though, I think Sheffield would have to be out for the year They would probably have to give up Hughes to get him. I think this would be good for the Sox, because the yanks give up their best prospect and Lee is a free agent next year. I much rather them get a Carlos Lee then a Barry Zito or Dontrelle Willis.
  19. As for Rauch, that would be a way to get some solid pitching without giving up an elite prospect.
  20. jimmycarter05, no offense, but I think that's an awful idea. We signed Tek to an extension, he's our captain and he's great with the staff. I don't think Theo would ever consider looking for another catcher unless Tek was hitting something like .051/.122/.197.
  21. I can't wait for Pedroia to come up. For some reason, I think he could hit much better then Gonzalez. His defense is supposed to be good, so it's not like we would be putting a Wily Mo/Manny defensive player at SS. If they did call him up, it would bring nothing but good things. P.S. I still can't see the Yankees system as good. They have Hughes, who is supposed to be very good, but then they don't have much. Duncan isn't that good and the only other guy I can think of is CJ Henry, an outfielder who is either in A or AA.
  22. Can I put a picture in my sig?
