  1. wait wait, the yankee radio lady its retarded. She said papelbon sat down but really he just stopped throwing for 10 seconds.
  2. looks like we are getting piniero, not papelbon
  3. How many game winning grand slams does he have? They both contribute. Get over it.
  4. Exactly. I agree. I am just saying that Coco is not clearly better than Wily Mo. They both have their situations. Wily Mo is not quite ready to be an everyday player because his strikeouts are terrible, but mixed playing time is good for him and Coco is not a vital part of the team to have out there every night. It actually works out rather well.
  5. I think the front office is planning on Youk switching back to third and finding a 1st baseman from either Pena, the free agent market or maybe even holding out for Lars Anderson. If pena could pay enough attention to play first, that would be terrific.
  6. In the trade between BRASS and Montanas Verdes, I just want to make sure whichever one of you is trading Kinsler realizes he has 7 home runs.
  7. Diving catches often mean that the guy screwed up with his judgement to begin with. On the topic of the argument, I think that Wily Mo's offensive numbers would go down if there was a larger sample size, because he would strike out more often. They need to gradually work him into a starting role to see if he can make more out of his at bats. He is all or nothing right now, which isn't particularly what the Sox are looking for. He doesn't need to be Youk, but just needs to do something other than home run or stikeout. Coco is the better defensive player, but its mostly due to consistency. It has nothing to do with spectacular plays. If you leave anybody with decent legs out there long enough they make some plays.
  8. I was at a restaurant with NESN, but now I'm stuck here listening to these crappy Yank radio announcers.
  9. Damn, i should have done commissioner control. Who vetoed that?
  10. well, maybe not on the fielding side, but in terms of batting Carlos Zambrano is one of the best pitchers.
  11. He may be but that would be a stupid move on their part.
  12. You know what, he "cheated" but so did everyone else. And technincally, he didn't cheat unless he is still doing them. I can't say I like the guy, but you cannot disregard him. If steroids were all it took to be the greatest home run hitter ever, Jason Grimsley could make a big league team as a hitter. It is still a tremendous accomplishment and should be celebrated. People need to face it. This is/was the steroid era. It is just another part of baseball history, and Barry is the greatest home run hitter in baseball's history so far. His record should be celebrated. Bud Selig should be immediately fired if he is not there.
  13. I was going to say you guys were crazy, because I was going to say that he may not be the best, but there isn't anyone better available. Then I remembered that Joe Girardi is sitting around waiting for this and, well, yeah.
  14. if there is a pitcher in the league who could and would do it, it would be Dontrelle or Zambrano I'm gonna love this
  15. Well, at least they got the pitcher in the right spot.
  16. The real sox killer from the blue jays has been ted lilly, and hes gone to chicago now, so the sox are set up nicely for this series.
  17. Yeah, there was a great ESPN.com feature on him and the town he grew up in. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2762971
  18. I think Lester is back by late May, and I think Devern Hansack will replace Tavarez after Julian sucks in another start this week. Hansack will then move to relief when Lester comes back and somebody will get placed on waivers.
  19. Bates is a possibility to play first at some point next season for the Sox. Morneau is the comparison I have seen the most. He really has kind of been quietly going about his business so far in his career, but he seems to be breaking out this season.
  20. I really don't think the stadium looks that terrific to me. The Diamond in Richmond is bigger, old as crap, but there are bigger places, places that get more attendance and that pic makes it look similar to the Single-A stadium I visited last summer in State College, PA.
  21. Lugo gets a little gift with the official scoring being a hit.
