  1. No Bonds, No ARod. Keep them away from Fenway!
  2. also remember that he was the guy who beamed A-Rod to start the season turning brawl
  3. i believe 2 were in the plane and 2 were in the building
  4. I want Bronson back, no doubt. He was a good clubhouse guy and solid pitcher. Bring him back
  5. It is like the 80s, retro playoffs. Sparky's Tigers vs. Tony's A's except it is a new era
  6. nevermind, just found out. They play for the Peoria Javelinas, along with some other big prospects like Jarrod Saltamacchia of the Braves, Chad Spann, others
  7. are they all on the same team, or, yeah, what team. I'm especially interested in Pauley
  8. Do we have any prospects playing in the Arizona Fall League. This league always produces some good major leaguers. Dan Uggla the most recent.
  9. Keith Foulke p 3 years/$20.25M (2004-06), plus 2007 option $1.5M signing bonus 04:$3M, 05:$7M, 06:$7.25M, 07:$7.5M club option ($1.5M buyout) or $3.75M player option 2007 option vests at $7.5M with 45 GF each 04-06 or total of 95 GF 05-06 2007 option vests at $7.75M with 53 GF in 2006 2007 option becomes $7.75M player option if Foulke finishes in top 5 in Cy Young balloting in any of the contract's first 3 years (2004, 2005 or 2006) agent: Dan Horwitz, Beverly Hills Sports Council ML service: 8.094 courtesy Cot's Baseball Contracts
  10. I'll give it Mets in 4
  11. I wouldn't trade Julian Tavarez for Alex Rodriguez. I do not want A-Rod on the team, and I could care less what numbers he puts up. He is more trouble with his stupid sensitivity to media and fans than his bat is worth. He doesn't play well when a star player could put on an epic performance. Does he deserve all the criticism he gets? No, but the way he reacts to it hinders his play. He would not function in Boston. Period.
  12. or they could put melky in right
  13. this is the greatest 10 seconds of celebration ever: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5051078003584480509&q=Jim+Leyland&hl=en
  14. it has been down all afternoon for me, it just came back up 30 seconds ago
  15. because he sucks in the playoffs!!! Have you been under a rock?
  16. the Boston Herald reports that Alex Gonzalez wants a 3-4 year deal. Are you guys still on board. I was thinking 1-2 with options, but as long as the money is reasonable I would not be opposed to giving him 3
  17. most teams do not consider what Torre did failure. Actually, I think only the Yankees do. There is nobody in the world with an ego big enough to control that team's motivations
  18. this is a big game. Woody Williams had a very solid season.
  19. I still cannot understand why it is Torre's fault. If your lineup had just a couple players that bought into Torre's classy philosophy, I think you would have dominated the Tigers. I think if you guys keep Melky and Robinson Cano on, they are the type of players the Yankees were built on. They are the type I can respect.
  20. i now get the Bagwell reference, just didn't occur to me at the time
  21. I do not see the logic at all that Lou Pinella is suddenly going to make this team win a World Series. He never even won a fricking division in New York!! I think we all know George Steinbrenner overreacts to everything, but if he does this, I think it will send New York into a down period. I mean like a someone else will win the East for at least 5 years down period. Joe Torre is as good as you are going to get to manage the New York Yankees. Nobody has experience with that type of clubhouse except him. I actually think that George's infatuation with bringing in every star player he can is the problem in New York. There are no Paul O'Neills no Tinos, no David Cones, no Scott Brosius and so on. Joe Torre is not the problem, Steinbrenner and the FO have disrespected his method for winning and given him players that he cannot make win together. They are not the Yankees I can respect, because Torre was the reason for the respect, and now he cannot make his players into that classy unit that won numerous World Series. Torre is not the person who needs to change.
  22. This is what Yankee fans have to see when they decide to join Red Sox message boards. Get over it.
  23. I think there are 200 millions reasons why George Steinbrenner will say they choked
  24. how about that random fan who ran up and stuck his face in the net next to Leyland after Leyland had kissed his wife and daughter through the net. That has to be one of the greatest video clips of all time, mostly because Leyland kissed the guys hat.
