  1. I would take Derek Jeter for any team anyday of the week. He is the ultimate leader. I also like Hideki Matsui, he plays for the game and the fans, not the paycheck.
  2. I think we need both of these ******* problem causers (Gom and Jacksonian) to learn what this board is for
  3. Steve Phillips on ESPN.com There's no truth to the rumor that had the Red Sox sending outfielder Wily Mo Pena to the Nationals for closer Chad Cordero.
  4. Cubs wanted him at center and Mets wanted him at second Sox want him at short and apparently he wants to play short too
  5. the mets do not want him to play short, obviously, and the Sox do
  6. his ERA in the minors was under 3 last season, and while I do not expect him to throw no hitters or even start, he is better than Lenny Dinardo or probly any of our long relievers last season
  7. 7th inning? As of right now, Donnelly would be our fricking closer
  8. you know what dude, I do not feel like arguing with you. I started a thread because I feel like he is a good player who could help the Sox out. And all you want to do is figure out why everything I say is wrong. Why don't you try and have an idea or insight instead of going around badgering people?
  9. what do you mean claimed? He is on the 40 man roster. Nobody has said he will be put on waivers
  10. I think Hansack will be a solid major leaguer for the next 5-6 years. Plus this is not he Prospect forum, it is the MINOR LEAGUES FORUM. :wtf:
  11. he is a prospect in that he has the potential to be a major league player, but has not gotten a chance
  12. He no hit the O's for all 5 innings played in the finale. He was a leader on the Portland team that won its league I believe. What are his chances of seeing the field in Fenway this season?
  13. Absolutely terrific to see. Let's hope he can stay healthy.
  14. MLB: Sox, duh NHL: Bruins (they are on a good streak right now) NFL: Pats NBA: Celtics (not such a good streak) NCAA: Virginia Tech Hokies
  15. MLB.com has a different team involved with the Nats The Angels could be involved in a three-way deal with the Nationals and Red Sox with Manny Ramirez going to the Angels. The Nationals and Red Sox would love to have Ervin Santana, who was 16-8 with a 4.28 ERA last season, but the Angels are loathe to part with the right-hander. Seattle is another possible destination for Ramirez, though those talks apparently never really got off the ground.
  16. Hart has completely altered the financial trends of baseball several times now by handing out insane offers seemingly just to act extravagant.
  17. 4:15 p.m., from Peter Gammons • The Dodgers and Mariners are in the hunt for Manny Ramirez. • The Cubs are making a hard push for Ted Lilly. According to Steve Phillips, Lilly's agent will arrive later today. • The Giants worked out Octavio Dotel in the Dominican Republic last weekend. Eleven teams made offers, but the Giants weren't one of them. This is gammons last update from Orlando to see more go to this link: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2685697
  18. yeah, Penny is good, but the Astros lose their third baseman, a decent relief pitcher and get no prospects from the dodgers or us?
  19. his contract does not end until he has 6 years of major league service time
  20. Do you mean if Manny is not traded we will not sign Drew?
  21. I do not think Pedro is healthy enough. We need to worry about the bullpen, and maybe a bottom of the rotation starter, not Pedro
  22. This thread was meant to induce chat about offseason moves assuming Manny is not traded. Therefore thinking of other means of accomplishing goals of getting a close and shortstop.
  23. Maybe the one thing we have not thought about is the most realistc possibility. A lineup of: Youk Pedroia Ortiz Manny Drew is not bad, but we need to worry about: 1. if Lowell is good to start, or if we are looking for a corner infielder 2. Who is playing SS 3. Who is the closer
  24. OK, I was saying what I would take from the Padres for manny. However, I have said today that I see no way manny goes to the Padres, therefore, I also believe this is not a feasible trade.
  25. Linebrink plus peavy and kouzmanoff
