  1. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/unfiltered/?p=79 BP article on the 47% market rise and the best and worst deals so far.
  2. Thats true, it seems like the Sox have been idle with their 7-9 mil offer...and I cannot blame Boras for not budging on that figure. Adam Eaton got 8 mil...if Matsuzaka turns out like Eaton thats one of the biggest busts of the decade...he definitely deserves 11+. I'd give it to him, given our other options, and the possibility of Clemens going to NY.
  3. According to the Herald, many officials say that the only way a deal could get done is if Matsuzaka stands up to Boras and makes him accept the deal...very interesting. How funny would that be if we got him for 8 mil a season cause of that? http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view.bg?articleid=171439
  4. That would make my Thursday...or Wednesday whenever it is.
  5. *Gio Gonzalez.
  6. He had 29 saves last year. Thats not the overwhelming number. Its the 3.19 ERA, the 1.10 WHIP, the 69 K's in 73 innings. All that good stuff. The age and salary aren't bad either.
  7. Wow. Really ARod? And I wasn't kidding about Sal. I met him in ST.
  8. Yeah I know who Buchholz is. I also know that Chad Cordero is the best closing option we have right now. If we can sign Matsuzaka, our rotation of the future can be Mats, Beckett, Paps, Lester, Bowden, or FA's if 1+ of them don't work out. Buchholz isn't completely indispensable. And Hansen was supposed to close...but Cordero is so much better than him, he can be dealt as well. If thats the deal on the table, and we can do it without hurting out offense by dealing WMP, do it.
  9. At this point in time yes because we have 3 good starting outfielders and not enough starters (without Mats). But the main point of the trade was to get a power outfielder for the future, so we can't really say if the deal was good or bad.
  10. Why are you always looking for reassurance that the Sox stunk it up and the Yanks are superior?
  11. Hey, thats why they're prospects...Foppert was higher than Santana.
  12. I root for one team, but don't necesarily wish death on other teams...besides Yankees. I enjoy rooting for other individual players and milestones and accomplishments, etc. That and good baseball.
  13. I haven't memorized many stats at all. I still call myself a diehard. Thats not really the measuring stick of a fan. It counts, it tells me you care...but other things matter.
  14. Hah...funny reading this. Also kinda weird how the Sox and Dodgers just seem to be exchanging personnel back and forth...Mueller, Nomar, Grady, Lowe, lots more...almost Manny...Drew, Lugo, etc.
  15. I didn't overrate them, I said it was a nice shot by Paul Pierce. But of course your basketball prowess could have easily matched it. In the span of 24 hours, you called me a: fag retard f***ing idiot idiot f***ing idiot idiot I'm sorry I don't meet your basketball godliness expectations...but with all due respect, umm, how should I word this...shut the f*** up you f***ing **** bag faggot. Good?
  16. Wow...what a shot by Paul Pierce. Spins off Kidd, fallaway jumper from right in front of the 3 line...Pops the jersey after...92-90. We needed it.
  17. Gotta love the Sal manchu....c'mon where's the love?
  18. Celtics scored 2 points in the first 10 minutes of the game, and its tied at 90 with 43 seconds left.
  19. Yeah, it was a good move. Since its only 1 year the salary isn't huge and he can definitely be a good pitcher, he's shown he can. Props.
  20. Jeter, Rivera, Sal Fasano.
  21. You always talk about how you "own" everyone in arguments...
