Mussina>Schilling
-Schilling is going to decline this year. Mussina is still a real good pitcher.
Not so sure about Paps vs. Johnson...Johnson's gonna rebound to about a 4 ERA, 15 wins, etc...they could be about equal this year.
I think we're talking about Piniero to the Yankees...also, if he's only good enough for the AAA rotation, why the f*** would we even consider him for the closer role?
I agree. No real need to spend a lot more money on someone who isn't going to produce signifigantly better than Pedroia. He's not an All-Star but hes a fine young player who can field his position and carries a decent bat...we wouldn't be getting that much better numbers from a Giles or a Loretta, but they'd definitely cost more. Spend the money elsewhere.
Hmm...don't really get it...I guess for more lefty insurance, but Closer, Timlin, MDC, Tavarez, Okajima, Romero, Donnelly, Hansen...gettin crowded in there.
It's a good aquistion, but as many have said, not if he's the closer.
The bullpen is now:
Closer
Timlin
Delcarmen
Donnelly
Okajima
Tavarez
Possibly Hansen, depends on how we construct our bench.
