  1. YOU'RE WELCOME!
  2. Umm...Otsuka? I don't know who the closer is, but it isn't going to be anyone on the current team.
  3. Trust me, that bid was pretty damn loud. HAHA!
  4. There are no givens...in 2005, you made the playoffs because of Chacon and Small basically...5th starters.
  5. You better care about the 5th starter, cause if it's poor, thats a few losses tacked on...every game is important, and the 5th spot gets 35.
  6. Martinez and Tavarez have nil trade value.
  7. Dude the offseason isn't over we're gonna get a closer...the bullpen won't be like this.
  8. Mussina>Schilling -Schilling is going to decline this year. Mussina is still a real good pitcher. Not so sure about Paps vs. Johnson...Johnson's gonna rebound to about a 4 ERA, 15 wins, etc...they could be about equal this year.
  9. I think we're talking about Piniero to the Yankees...also, if he's only good enough for the AAA rotation, why the f*** would we even consider him for the closer role?
  10. If we can't package Hinske with a prospect for a closer I would do that deal.
  11. I agree. No real need to spend a lot more money on someone who isn't going to produce signifigantly better than Pedroia. He's not an All-Star but hes a fine young player who can field his position and carries a decent bat...we wouldn't be getting that much better numbers from a Giles or a Loretta, but they'd definitely cost more. Spend the money elsewhere.
  12. I wouldn't mind him here...the image of him etched in my mind is giving up the walkoff to Papi in the doubleheader.
  13. I meant if he played in 2006 and put up the projected numbers, Verlander, Paps, and Liriano could have beaten him out
  14. If he put up those projected numbers in 2006 he'd be 3rd/4th in ROY.
  15. On a side note...the Sox like the L.A. shopping...Lugo, Drew, Donnelly and Romero.
  16. Thats gonna be the worry every time we trade a young pitcher...Seibel is not Cla Meredith.
  17. Check the Romero thread...thats probably it.
  18. AL West.
  19. Hmm...don't really get it...I guess for more lefty insurance, but Closer, Timlin, MDC, Tavarez, Okajima, Romero, Donnelly, Hansen...gettin crowded in there.
  20. What reports?
  21. Uhh no we don't.
  22. If we do Hinske and a mid-spect, that'd be miraculous robbery.
  23. It's a good aquistion, but as many have said, not if he's the closer. The bullpen is now: Closer Timlin Delcarmen Donnelly Okajima Tavarez Possibly Hansen, depends on how we construct our bench.
  24. Most of the guys on that list probably wouldn't be content with ST invites.
