  1. Fun game to be at tonight. Roberts got an immense ovation, great to see him back. Bonds was booed as loud as Roberts was cheered. That was an absolute bomb he hit foul in the first. Tavarez and Pedroia both had awesome games. Pedroia definitely had the game of his life. Zito didn't have his good stuff, and Tavarez brought his best. It's good to see the standings go the other way for a change. I have many pictures but I'm too lazy to post em tonight. Probably tomorrow.
  2. Lugo for Jack Wilson? No.
  3. Yeah, Youkilis has been hitting 2nd for a lot of the year, so I'm not sure a lack of RBI chances is really the right answer here.
  4. I have, and I have been/am on other forums. This site is BY FAR the best moderated one. I don't come to a baseball forum to look at dicks. I come to talk about baseball. Same with the no photos in sigs policy. Thats a huge reason why I post here.
  5. That's absolutely disgusting. I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw that. That site is ridiculous.
  6. By far the most entertaining player to watch over the course of a season. The cutoffs, the pisses in the monster, the headphones in the shades, the applesauce in the dugout, I think once he had some drink in his back pocket. Manny things to love.
  7. Galllardo, of the Milwuakee Brewers, is one of the best pitching prospects in baseball. He is getting called up in place of Chris Capuano (hurt) today. He isn't necessarily going to be a starter immediately, although that is certainly the eventual destination for him. According to the 07 prospect handbook, Gallardo has a fastball that sits at 90-94. He has a very good curveball, best in the Brewers minor leagues. He also has an 85-89 mph slider, which according to the handbook has become a plus pitch. He also has an improving changeup. He changes arm slots to keep hitters off balance, but he has repeats his delivery very easily. In 2006, Gallardo allowed just 6 home runs in 155 innings (split between High A and AA). In his minor league career through 06, he has posted a 19-9 record, a 2.38 ERA, 329 strikeouts in 303 innings, and has only allowed 230 hits and 110 walks, good for a 1.12 WHIP. This season, Gallardo has gone 8-3 in 77 2/3 IP, allowing 4 home runs, striking out 110 and walking 28, which in all is good for a 2.90 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP. This year most of his numbers have risen, except for his walk rate. I also got this one from RotoAuthority: he has a .293 BABIP (Batting average on balls in play). This shows that his great numbers in his career have not been luck, but just pure talent. Before the season, Baseball Prospectus predicted a 3.92 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in the majors in 2007 (their projections always assume the player is in the majors, even if they are in A ball). They also compare him to some very good current pitchers: Peavy, Harden, Kazmir, Penny, Zumaya and C. Zambrano. Gallardo is a can't miss prospect. As previously stated, he won't be immediately inserted into the rotation. However if he pitches as expected, it shouldn't be long before he is thrown into the same discussion as the aforementioned young guns. Watch out for this kid, he's a good one.
  8. I'm going tomorrow; I'll be sure to boo the 3 stooges.
  9. Don has the giggles again.
  10. He's pretty good. Their 3rd best hitter (normally).
  11. Kevin Youkilis is the least of our worries right now.
  12. If that is true, how'd we get here?
  13. Awesome! I love Mueller.
  14. Curt was not horrible last night. Sure, he definitely did not have his best stuff, nor anywhere near it. But in the first 2 innings, he got extremely unlucky. An error, a couple infield hits and a infield chopper turned into a double. Those two innings were very unlucky. It seemed like he was settled down until the inning with the Hawpe homer (4th or 5th). That inning, he just lost his stuff. We have all seen that he can be a great pitcher, even at this age. I'm not ready to give up on him.
  15. I saw that on BDD and for some reason thought it was construction. Then I realized where the holes were.
  16. Presumably because Lugo recently sat and Pedroia has not. Even the good players have to sit sometimes. Nice rebound from 2 singles to start the 5th. Helton and Holliday both retired. As I say that, Hawpe homers. 6-2.
  17. In case anyone was wondering, Coco and Loogey kinda f*** up rallies.
  18. Nice Cora, Corners with 1 out. But Lugo and Crisp are up now.
