  1. You might very well have to give up Bowden. I'm hearing Bowden and Lowrie and maybe someone else could get the job done. I like Lowrie a lot, and it would be tough to part with the most advanced middle infielder in the farm system with Lugo sucking it up in the majors. But you have to do it for Buehrle. The rotation would be pretty nice if we do get him. This season: 1. Josh Beckett 2. Daisuke Matsuzaka 3. Mark Buehrle 4. Curt Schilling 5. Tim Wakefield Next season: 1. Josh Beckett 2. Daisuke Matsuzaka 3. Mark Buehrle 4. Jon Lester 5. Clay Buchholz/Tim Wakefield?
  2. With the runner just nailed out at home to end the 7th, it's not looking good for UNC. It's 7-3 OSU in the 8th.
  3. Nice win, 2 of 3 from a damn good team. Beckett and Paps combine for a downright filthy 9 innings of pitching. Peavy didn't really have his best stuff. Tek jacks one, Lugo still sucks. We should take 2 of 3 from Seattle, as they have Jeff Weaver and Ryan Feiereband going in games 1 and 3.
  4. Well done Giants. I thought they were going to get swept?
  5. Gabbard's getting the start Tuesday vs. Seattle, according to NESN. He'll face Felix Hernandez.
  6. Announcer boy just said Kason Gabbard is pitching Tuesday, not Lester. Hmph.
  7. SD fans need to cool it. Booing the s*** out of Mirabelli, and now they think Beckett is throwing as Spicoli. Inning ovah, good to see Beckett settle back in.
  8. Update: Yanks are losing 3-1.
  9. Rod's having quite the AB here. He's the go ahead run with the bases loaded. It's 3-0 Gigantes. EDIT: He ends the 11 pitch at bat with a FC. 3-1.
  10. I don't think he got tossed. But he's been arguing a lot more than usual this year.
  11. I go down to make a smoothie and this! Seemed like Beckett was cruising. At least Peavy's done..but the SD pen is the best.
  12. Nice knocks by Manny and Drew. 1st and 2nd, 0 out.
  13. Beckett's looking nice. 3-0 after 4.
  14. Beckett has a higher average than Lugo, no? edit-No, but its close.
  15. Papi saves Lugo from an error. 3-0 after 3.
  16. 3-0, this is huge. Sox are finding holes and getting lucky.
  17. Papi single, 1-0. Peavy isn't looking his best.
  18. Attaboy Cora. 1st and 2nd for Papi, score.
  19. Per Ken Rosenthal
  20. There's been some discussion of this in other threads, but I want to give this topic its own thread. If you were to start a franchise, from scratch, which player(s) would you start with? You can list one or multiple players. I'm not going to make this a poll because of the vast options. I might take Grady Sizemore. He's got everything: power, average, speed, and fielding. He's young and he's cheap.
  21. On the ESPNEWS ticker, it says that the ChiSox expect to trade Buehrle. I'd love to get him. Can't have too many arms.
