  1. Correct. So are we going with a 3 man rotation in the first round? If so... 1-Lester 2-Beckett 3-Buchholz 4-Lester 5-Beckett Lester would have to go on 3 day rest in Game 4, but Beckett would be on normal rest. Unless of course we go with a 4 man and use Kilo's idea, which I wouldn't be opposed to.
  2. Not that it matters but I expected them to wait until they clinched. Oh, and it only took 6 words for McAdam to make a mistake. It was Game 6, not 5.
  3. He's probably not going to contribute anything, but you know he's going to be playing one game in the LDS, so doesn't it make sense to at least try to get something useful out of him?
  4. I'm sure neither of the lines are good, but if you have to start Varitek when Beckett starts, wouldn't you rather have him hit against a LHP?
  5. Brian Hunter, 74 in 1997. Ellsbury has the most AL SB in a year since Henderson in 1998.
  6. This is a nitpick, but the Yankees will get to choose which series they get, and they'll likely choose more days off. But I like the idea. You touched upon this, but if Kazmir and Beckett go in G3 then you have Varitek facing a LHP, which is favorable.
  7. Probably wouldn't happen for reasons beyond the field, but the H/R splits don't thrill me either.
  8. Vlad cannot play the field anymore. Can't say I'm thrilled about Dye or Reddick (for next year at least) either.
  9. No, it was 1 day rest. Game 3 was rained out and was pushed to the off day that normally would have separated Games 5 and 6. I had tickets to Game 3, and subsequently to Game 5 (just a side note). Beckett started on 3 days rest, not similar.
  10. When else has a team brought in their #2 starter on 1 day rest in a blowout playoff game?
  11. Wow I completely forgot about bringing in Pedro.
  12. I'd love to keep Bay too, but Holliday is a pretty nice second choice. I think we have to get one of them. I think given the option, the Sox would rather keep Bay too, but it's not like they'll be without competition.
  13. "piggybacking on your post" has to be innuendo, right?
  14. I think they'll get the chance to line it up however they want. They have three days between the last game of the season and the first playoff game, and they'll clinch before the last day.
  15. You know, I actually might be in New York for the weekend of ALCS Games 1 and 2. I'll get back to you.
  16. "The only thing stopping Terry Francona from being a saint is that a lot of times the things he does are f***ing retarded."
  17. You forgot about Matsui. So for position players I'd go with: Posada, Molina, Cervelli Teixeira, Cano, Jeter, Rodriguez, Pena, Hairston Damon, Cabrera, Swisher, Matsui, Hinske, Gardner I took Cervelli over Guzman. Just don't see the need for another outfielder when you have 6 already (I'm counting Hairston and not Matsui). But if it was completely up to me I'd probably take a reliever over Cervelli.
  18. ^ I definitely think Hardy is a better option than Gonzalez going forward.
  19. Got 15 of 20. I got all the top 12 but missed a few of the lower ones.
  20. Nothing for me.
  21. AL East. They won the game then watched the rest of the Yankee game, then about an hour after the game went onto the field for the celebration.
