    Dude, we lost Schilling for the year (you got something out of Wang and Joba) and we lost Ortiz for a month. You also have $70 million+ on your payroll. You can shoulder these injuries. Plus the fact Mike f***ing Mussina has won 16 games this season.

    Unless they pitch in the same game I fail to see how Moose's slop is going to help Joba. Major league hitters can adjust from game to game. Posada's value was for being a very good offensive catcher. He'so longer a catcher, therefore he has no value. If you let Pudge go and try to move Posada, who's your starting C? I don't disagree but I find it unlikely that the Sox will be in on the bidding for Teixeira's services when they have Youk, Lowell, and Lars Anderson ascending the ranks. No disagreement here. Why would Abreu take a one year deal? Yep. For the haul the Mariners gave up for Bedard last season you're dreaming if you think Kennedy/Melky/filler prospects is good enough to get him. Jeremy Reed sucks and he's a better player than Melky. Doesn't he have another option? Please please please do this. THis is pretty meh overall, Gom. Cashman will do better.

    The difficulty is the Phillies only had to overtake the Mets last season whereas the Yankees have to overtake the Sox and/or one of the Twins/White Sox. Possibly the Rays, too.

    Sox look to continue their hot hitting this weekend against the Toronto Blue Jays. These Jays are pretty much the polar opposite of the Texas Rangers that just left Fenway. The Blue Jays are the #1 pitching staff in all of baseball. Positive? Their lineup sucks. Negative? The Sox are throwing Paul Byrd and Clay Buchholz this weekend. If there was ever a weekend for Clay to get back on track, it's this weekend. 2/3 would be fantastic, especially since they are up against Halladay, Marcum, and Burnett. Tampa goes to Texas after squeaking by in 2/3 against the worst team in baseball right now. Texas will hit, no question. Can Tampa score with them? That's the ultimate question. As for the Yankees, anything less than a sweep is disappointing. KC is pathetically bad.
