I actually agree with you - I wasn't pleased when Mark Loretta was getting PT at 1B down the stretch while Pena sat on the bench.

How many times do we need to have this argument? 1. Eric Hinske was under contract for the Red Sox for 2007, Pena wasn't. 2. Carlos Pena was cut by the worst team in baseball in spring training. 3. If not for an injury by Greg Norton, he wouldn't have made the Tampa team last season. How anyone can fault the FO for letting Pena go is complete revisionist history.
