  1. Not really, he has actually started to bear down as this season is going on. He isnt a guy who you need to figure out. He throws the same pitch 90% of the time....
  2. well, let me just say that b George backing off and giving cash some leeway, we have already rebuilt the farm. We went from 30th in the league 3 yrs ago to upper teens right now. With the majority of our talent at the A level and 2 more 1st rounders this yr, you can expect this team to rebuild slowly. The yankees dont believe in drafting the college kids as their windows are smaller, but they will do the sustained, long road approach with the high schoolers....
  3. Verlander was way above the class of both Lester and Hansen. He was a top 5 prospect in the game. Neither Lester nor Hansen are considered that....
  4. and taking their lumps...
  5. Once it heats up, we'll se who is strongest. Old guys like the heat....
  6. you are both a homer and crazy...
  7. Trot will have value, but do you unceremoniously dump a guy who has been a hard nosed player for you guys for his whole career? Or do you let him walk off into the sunset as he chooses and take the draft picks as compensation...
  8. It was so bad that I actually asked my father if the yankees were the worst team in the history of baseball. He laughed at me.....

  10. you wouldnt....
  11. I am very disliked and I am a retard, hmmmmmmmmmm. Yeah ok there skippy, I have seen ZERO intelligent posts from you. I showed how almost every single one of your points to Mr Crunchy were baseless, homeristic crap and hence you were owned. If you cannot handle it, then go out and hang with all the other little children your age. You are in over your head bub....
  12. well, he is on pace for 500 ab because of injury. And he is playing CF rather well? More like he is holding onto a raging bull with both hands and hasnt fallen off yet. He isnt a CFer, well not a good one at least. He has been in the majors since 17 because his agent forced the yankees to sign him to a MLB deal, hence he cannot be sent down to the minor leagues without his permission. When he signed, the yankees were in the midst of WS win #3 out of 4 and we didnt have time to groom a raw 17 yr old. No it means that he tried to field. He was putrid in the OF but was pressed into duty because Junior had all those injuries. His future is as a DH. More nonsense. He would have had 250 K's last yr if he played the entire yr, and that is shattering Actually you are wrong. Most great hitters develop some patience in the minors then they come up to the bigs and develop it further. You can afford to be patient when you are confident in your ability to hit with 2 strikes. That confidence comes when you are playing against inferior talent. you mean in the 3 games that he played against us. Small sample size, early in the yr. 4 for 12.... Kevin Maas also had scary power and a solid yr #1. Then he fizzled out. BTW, if sam horn is your measuring stick, then you arent measuring well enough. He is hitting .200 against lefties. That number will come up. Concurrently, the avg vs righties will go down. He is a career .250 hitter for a reason, he wont morph into a .320 hitter overnight. Consider yourself owned...
  13. agreed. jsing, trust me bro, tak about stuff you know. If you really thought for one second that George wasnt in touch with Michael on a regular basis, then I have some swamp land I'd like to sell you.....
  14. especially against us....
  15. My eyes are burning, no, stop, the pain, NOOOOOOOOOOO
  16. If you criticize any black man, you are a racist. If you criticize a few white men, you are a realist. Nice double standard......
  17. He isnt the answer this yr. He will be next yr or the yr after. Question for you guys, if wells ends up on the shelf for the yr and clement stays as is, what do you do? You would essentially have a young ace in Beckett, an inconsistent old man in Schill, a knuckleballer in Wake and then ???.
  18. As far as pitchers on the market, ESPNRadio was talking about it this morning. Miami will talk to any team inquiring about Willis, but they want young MLB seasoned players in return. This would include Papelbon or Pena for you guys or Wang and Cano for us. It aint worth it. The one guy who will get the bidding the most though is teamated with Bonds. Schmidt is 33 and has a 10 mil option that the giants have already told him, they will not pick up. He could be had for two top prospects or one if you want to eat the salaries of Steve Finley or Mike Matheny. Also, I bet you could package lesser prospects like Martinez and DelCarmen plus eating finleys contract so they can start over. They also said that Zito will be dealt, but the market hasnt developed yet and you can bet beane will get a kings ransom....
  19. and both schill and RJ havent been doing that. Schill can still get his splitty near 85-88 range. RJ can still throw his slider at 89. But both now sit at 91-93 instead of 97-98. The hitters know how quick their hands have to be, they just have to adjust to movement....
  20. easier said than done. It took Mike Mussina two horrible seasons (by his standards) to figure out what he needed to do. If you throw 98 and have a 85 mph splitter, then you have a change of speed. If you throw 92 and have an 85 mph splitter, you wont fool anyone. The key to aging gracefully is knowing when your fastball velocity is dropping and then you have to drop the speed of your off speed stuff accordingly....
  21. has anyone seen Choi play before? He has the longest swing on record and is easily chewed up by anyone who will throw him a fastball. He will make the former wily mo look like he was tony gwynn. There is a reason why nobody in baseball wanted him, he is horrible. At least with snow you have a solid defensive player and a good bat from the left hand side....
  22. agree totally seano. He is a project, and one that looks good now, but will have his lows soon. Baseball is funny like that. If you have the chance at a A#1 starting pitcher, you dont even think twice....
  23. Aside from one game against the yankees, he really has been completely horrid. If he hit .220 but game you a 1 for 5, 1 for 4 every night, then you'd take it. But he is giving you 1 for 10s then a 2 for 5, then another long hitless stretch.
  24. well, thank your bullpen for that. Schilling did you no favors against a punchless lineup. Roberts is out, Newhan is out, Mora and Tejada are really the only O. Javy is horrible. Ramon Hernandez has come back to earth. Gibbons is a mistake hitter who is easily handled if you have any control. That lineup is a joke...
  25. We had a legitimate predicament to say the least. What Damon needs is a week of DHing, but with Giambi on the frits and sheffield bound to return (to strict DH duty for a few weeks), we wont have that luxury. After the Boston series, we have 3 vs KC, so maybe he could have solely pinch hitting duties in that series. Either way, Bubba is a very good 4th OFer who can hold his own, but if he is the CFer and Bernie and Melky flank him, we are in trouble. Sheff is 10X the RFer that Bernie is and sheff isnt even that good in right. What Damon needs to do is hold on until sheff can resume RF duties, then take a long stint as the DH. I'll tell you what, not having a sole DH this season is helping....
