  1. no he wasnt. He was on the line and he was hit on his right shoulderblade. Lets be honest here...
  2. 1st and 3rd 0 outs for the yankees!!!!
  3. either that or Proctor's arm is hanging on by a string. Joe has to know better than to abuse this guy and to keep him in when he obviously doesnt have it...
  4. and Proctor gives it back, f***
  5. Proctor is tired, damn....
  6. that actually couldnt happen due to the fact that the sox have 6 runs...
  7. believe it or not, but the yankees have the tying run at the plate right now...
  8. I think Schilling's arm is going to fall off.
  9. Yankees are back in it, wow, 10-8
  10. Williams had been good. Ray had been good. That kid they brought in after chen hadnt been too bad. They arent the rangers pen, lol...
  11. As much as I'd love to, I wouldnt write off Curt. As much as you'd like to, you shouldnt write off Randy. They have been around the game a long time and they know how to pitch.
  12. The K's will come. If the walks go down, he will regain the effectiveness. Mark these words and for Chrissakes, I'll eat crow if I am wrong. If he gets back to typical BB rates (50 in 225 innings last yr or 2 per 9) he will regain his effectiveness....
  13. the O's dont have a horrible pen. If Todd Williams takes the ball and gets it to Ray, the Yankees might not lose any ground....
  14. BTW, Curt is looking pretty sweet today!!!
  15. obviously you would look at it like that, you are a red sox fan. I look at it like this. During his rough stretch, what was his downfall? It really wasnt the hits, although they did go up a little. Was it the K's, maybe, but not likely. It was his control. He walked 12 hitters in 21 innings. He walked a quarter the amount he did all of last yr in 1/11 of the innings. Something wasnt right. Against the A's he walked the leadoff hitter, then he didnt walk another batter in the game. It isnt much, hell it could be nothing if he goes back to walking the side against the mets, but it is a start. What I saw in Toronto, in TB, and against Boston was a guy too afraid to throw his fastball over the plate. What I saw in the first inning of the oakland game was a pitcher afraid to throw a strike. Then Guidry went out and said something that really fired him up. It was likely a challenge, becuase Guidry was a nasty lefty himself, and who knows, maybe it got him going. The fact is, it isnt like he is lacking the stuff, he is hitting 95 regularly and his slider still moves when he gets on top of it. His head was the problem and he showed signs of turning the corner. We'll see if I am right, but remember that I called it. I said that after inning #1, he wouldnt allow another run. And aside from a line drive homer 5 innings later that would have been an out in 80% of the ballpark, I was right. I saw it again from him, it was confidence, and if he shows it again, he'll return. Until then, he is Mandy to me....
  16. RJ looked like he might be turning a corner. Mussina has completely revolutionized his ability to pitch. Wang has the stuff to dominate and is just putting it together. If Johnson gets his head out of his ass, we'd have a formidable top 3. Chacon will at least go .500 on the season because he will give you solid starts 3 out of 5 times and we'll pick him up a couple times on the side. Wright has been good, Pavano has the ability to be better. We could use one more pitcher though, the injury bug hit the offense hard, but chances are it will hit our rotation harder at some point this yr. If we had Matsui and Sheff, we sweep the A's and we win yesterdays game. Today was a lost cause from the beginning. We need Sheff back. We need Giambi back. We can get a serviceable LFer for cheap if Melky continues to struggle. Thank god it is may, but we gotta get healthy....
  17. He usually runs in the 1.3-1.4 range. His last 2 starts have jacked that up a bit. He aint a savior, but he'll get the job one over the season as a #4. Hopefully, Pavano can step up and move Chacon to a #5.....
  18. Chacon just had a bad outing, I'm not worried about him long term. So far, we've had good pitching since we lost Matsui. Chacon gave up 1 run against you guys (granted he only went 4.2IP), Wang threw a SHO, Randy gave a winnable outing, and Mussina gave us 7IP and 2ER. We just cannot hit, period...
  19. He's sleepin with da fishes....
  20. donworrybouddit. He's been taken care of ya know?
  21. is there a team more useless than the orioles? They suck in every facet of the game...
