  1. Our O likes lefties. I hope we can handle glavine...
  2. BUT, Proctor and Mo wont be used tonight, I believe. Joe likes to shut people down prior to a game, and I have a feeling that neither Mo nor Proctor will get used......
  3. He's 6 for his last 20 (.300) and had 2 hits yesterday, not bad....
  4. Your pen is not in bad shape at all. I am just saying, they'll get work today and we have a big series with you guys on monday....
  5. 6 straight balls from Lidle, solid work...
  6. 30 pitches through 1, a Chacon inning for Lenny....
  7. if lidle keeps this game close, your pen is gonna be pressed into work...
  8. gamecast is a little slow today...
  9. me too, I just dont see it as much....
  10. exactly. Lidle has the ability, but he is such a pussy sometimes...
  11. was there some sort of great play or something? Gamecast said no out recorded then there was an out...
  12. red, i disagree though. A Yankee thread will get so long that any issue or topic will get buried...
  13. Small vs Glavine. Small has been awful in relief so far this yr with an era barely under 9, but he was a different beast as a starter last yr. Big difference with him is that he isnt attacking the inside part of the plate like he did last yr. His stuff is not good enough to go away all the time. Glavine has been the man so far for the Mets, but the yankees own left handed pitching (11-2 this yr). Then again, the lineup the yankees have resembles the clippers lineup more than a yankee lineup, so stats can be thrown out the window. The big question, though, is that if the yankees need a closer, they will be hard pressed to find one. Mariano and Proctor threw 3 innings apiece over the last 2 games and will likely be inactive for today's game. Farnsworth is achy right now with spasms in his back. If he can go tonight, then he'll close, but if he cannot go then we have a dilemma. Colter Bean was just brought up and has been great in the minors. I hope he is not the guy who closes, but who else do we have? Villone?- Maybe. Myers?-NO. Erickson?. HELL NO. Win or lose, I hope it is out of reach early...
  14. Clemens has done it for 20+ years. Also, last yrs stats by Clemens trumped Petey's and Clemens is 9 yr older than Petey...
  15. back of the baseball card. Manny may not have the power this yr, but he'll put up comparative #s to what is on the back of his baseball card....
  16. Polanco was Rolen's replacement at 3b, Smith was supposed to be the middle of the rotation starter to stabilize their hurting rotation. Smith was absolutely not a throw in, he was a high end prospect that they coveted badly....
  17. he is a soft throwing lefty who was the centerpiece of the package that moved Rolen from Philly to StL. He fizzled out in Philly's AAA level and is now branded as a AAAA player....
  18. If Boomer were 50 pounds lighter, his knee could hold up. At his weight and his age with those bad knees, he wont last the yr. You arent asking him to do that though. If he gives you 15 starts and gives you 8-9 QS's then he bridges gets you closer to the playoffs, where you dont need a 5th starter...
  19. actually the L column is all that really matters in this juncture and you guys have us by 2 in that column....
  20. well today is a big game for both yankees and red sox. Both teams throwing together SPs to try to win the final game of the series. Funny, I think there will be a change in the GB today between us, I hope we get closer...
  21. could you give me the number, I've never ridden a short bus before, but I know you have done so frequently. Nah, forget it, I'll take a limo over there....
