  6. Updated: Feb. 8, 2007, 12:45 PM ET Reds' Arroyo agrees to 2-year extension through 2010Associated Press CINCINNATI -- Right-hander Bronson Arroyo and the Cincinnati Reds agreed Thursday to a $25 million, two-year contract extension through 2010. Arroyo's previous contract contains $8,075,000 in remaining guaranteed salary: $4,125,000 this year and $3.95 million in 2008. His extension calls for a $2.5 million signing bonus, payable in 2008, and salaries of $9.5 million in 2009 and $11 million in 2010. Cincinnati has an $11 million option for 2011 with a $2 million buyout. The price of the option can escalate to $13 million, based on innings. As part of the extension, Arroyo agreed to eliminate a clause that could have increased his 2008 salary by $325,000 if he pitched 210 innings this year, and $325,000 in possible performance bonuses in 2008. Arroyo's deal came two days after the Reds agreed to a $36.5 million, four-year contract with Aaron Harang, their other top starter. That agreement also includes a 2011 option. Arroyo, an NL All-Star, led the major leagues with 240 2/3 innings pitched and was 14-11 with an ERA of 3.29. He and Harang, who won 16 games and pitched 234 1/3 innings, became the first pair in Reds history to each pitch at least 200 innings and have at least 184 strikeouts. Harang led the National League with 216 strikeouts. The Reds obtained the 30-year-old Arroyo from Boston last March in a trade for outfielder Wily Mo Pena. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press
  7. I love you too Seany!
  8. I wouldn't pay for ESPN Insider either, but you're right about Bill Simmons, I love his stuff. I really hope they reconsider this deal (PLEASE!!!!!)
  9. He's right there.
  10. I know what you mean about the average fan issue, it's ridiculous. I've got XM too and it's great for the blacked out games or, obviously, on the road etc. This was on ESPN's page 2 today. Great questions for Selig about this deal: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/amjump
  11. No thanks jackson....it's too cold up there!
  12. Thanks RSR. It just sucks so bad b/c I'm one of those apartment people (hopefully that will change in May) but I can't go through the month of April and a lot of May w/out watching the Sox on a daily basis. I guess once the deal is officially announced, I'll be calling Direct TV, bastards! I wonder how great the picture will be during a rain storm? >
  13. No it hasn't happened yet. If they do it, I hope they wait at least one more season or until 2009 when they will have the 24 baseball channel. I don't want a dish, but if it happens for the 2007 season, I'll get Direct TV.
  14. If Direct TV gets exclusive right to MLB games, I'll be pissed. I live in an apartment (not great for a Sat. dish) and have Comcast. FAAAAAAAAAAACK! http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/20/sports/baseball/20base.html
  15. He's already passed Babe Ruth, he's going for Hank Aaron's record and NO I don't want to see him get it!
  16. I agree and would be surprised if he doesn't get a big standing O! The first game will be May 29th.
  17. Good luck to Trot!
  18. True, so time will tell....it's up to the FO. I like Youk.
