  1. Beckett hit Assfield and Maggs. Todd Jones just got thrown out of the game for throwing behind Drew. Benches cleared! Crazy ST action!!!!
  2. Per MLB.com one was fielding and the other was a missed catch. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the boy.
  3. I'm listening on XM radio. Sounds like Pedroia is having a rough day w/ 2 E's. Good job by Hinske! Cora's having a good day at the plate 2-3 w/ 2 runs.

    WWE

What they do in the WWE is far from a "sport" (but posted in the Other Sports section). It should be in the Entertainment section, if bad acting and fake wrestling entertains you.
  5. Good news about your trips Fred! I'll see 3 games in Ft Myers the last week in March (when the players are soooooooooooo ready for it to be over, ha ha) Good luck on the September series. I don't have any Fenway trips planned right now (starting a new job in May, hoping to move too, busy times!) I read something recently about Foulke's ST era in 2004 15.00, horrible. I'm just being patient b/c it's so early. I like Donnelly and hope he will do well. I'm not big into predictions. I'm just waiting to see how it shakes out and putting faith in Tito and the FO (crazy me huh?). They've spent too much money on our new players, ya know? Oh and to edit/add on.....I didn't worry last season until August 1st when Tek went on the DL, I cried like it was the end of game 7 of the 2003 ALCS......but I'm a chick, so I can do that from time to time.....ha ha ha......
  6. It's just typical ambulance chasing attorney ********. They start big but will have to settle for whatever Pavano's auto insurance company has to offer and/or go after Pavano. It depends on the state's law. Unless there is something in a player's contract I can't see how in the hell the Yankees are responsible.
  7. Mirabelli stole 2nd base and I don't see a wild pitch or pass ball for the Phillies....how did that happen?
  8. I know Seano, although unlikely, the bball package could still be available through Comcast. I'm still in an apt for now and I've seen neighbor's balconies w/ the dish on it, it doesn't look so bad or big as I would have imagined. West Virginia state flower....good one....
  9. I think it's a good idea to be cautious w/ Timlin while it's early.
  10. See the MLB Extra Innings thread below and read Eric Wilbur's blog in the Globe, I think he hits the nail on the head: http://www.boston.com/sports/nesn/wilbur/sports_blog/blog/
  11. You enjoyed the baseball package last year didn't you? You may still be able to get it.
  12. I'm going to stick w/ my move to Direct TV, my appt is 3/17. I'll be in Ft. Myers the last week of March and don't have time to wait to see what InDemand/Comcast is going to do. They really screwed up by waiting so close to opening day to get this deal done. There's no excuse for it.
  13. Now THIS! Damn I'm confused: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/070308/20070308006061.html?.v=1 NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Major League Baseball and DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite provider, today announced a seven-year agreement that continues carriage rights to the MLB EXTRA INNINGS subscription package of out-of-market games and includes the launch of the MLB Channel as part of DIRECTV's basic package. Included within the agreement, DIRECTV will be a minority partner in the MLB Channel, and will work with MLB to develop the network, which will launch in 2009. Additionally, in keeping with MLB's desire to provide as much MLB programming to as many baseball fans as possible, MLB and DIRECTV have agreed to include a provision that allows MLB EXTRA INNINGS to be offered to other incumbents - In Demand and DISH Network - at consistent rates and carriage requirements with a deal to be concluded before the baseball season begins. The provision also requires the incumbents to agree to carriage rights to the MLB Channel proportionally equivalent to DIRECTV's commitment. Should the incumbents decide not to match DIRECTV's commitment, the MLB EXTRA INNINGS package will be exclusive to DIRECTV. All out of market
  14. Here's more about the deal: http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-extrainnings8mar08,1,4215199.story?coll=la-headlines-sports&ctrack=1&cset=true
  15. I was thinking of the NFL ticket where you can get all of the games, like the MLB package. I know select games are on cable. Comcast is also to blame. MLB got mad b/c they wouldn't agree to offer their new all-baseball channel as part of their basic cable and Direct TV did. The channel won't be available until 2009 and I thought they would at least hold off the exclusive deal until then or at least next season. Comcast carries all NFL and all NBA channels, why they wouldn't agree to baseball is beyond me. There's so much more baseball history. What do they do? Pull the trigger 24 days prior to opening day....ridiculous! I made the switch, no choice.
  16. Bailey another non-roster guy had an RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to beat Toronto 3-2. Pitching lines from that game: Boston IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Snyder 2.1 5 2 2 0 1 2 4.15 Tavarez 1.2 1 0 0 0 2 0 4.76 Pineiro 1.0 1 0 0 0 0 0 8.31 Breslow 1.0 1 0 0 0 2 0 0.00 Jackson 1.0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0.00 Debarr 1.0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0.00 Martinez, E 1.0 1 0 0 1 0 0 0.00
  17. yeah....exactly!
