  1. Good, now the whining about Kotchman can end. Nice to have Hall. Liking the recent moves.
  2. I don't read the Herald anymore. I prefer the Globe and their writers (especially Nick Cafardo and Amelie Benjamin), never have been a fan of Dan Shank and glad Edes is now writing for ESPN. Edes left around the same time Manny did because his main job was to s*** all over Manny at any given chance. I take the Boston Dirt Dogs with a grain of salt. Sometimes they make me laugh but they are way too negative and sarcastic, but like others, I continue to go back. One of my favorites was in 2004 (I think) and there was a picture of David Ortiz and Sammy Sosa together, the caption was "Papi and Corky"....still laugh about it to this day for some reason.
  3. What did you expect? I'd say typical and predictable.
  4. Great news to get this morning! Very happy about getting Beltre.
  5. Agreed Wellsy!! Just wish my Fios package had NESN, of course I get the fk'n YES network which I never watch. ESPNFL sucks and it's football coverage is ENDLESS.
  6. Wow, what a relief.
  7. I was recalling your Halladay rants b/c they reminded me of your Wakefield rants. You bitched and moaned EVERY TIME he started. Now you aren't happy with his 2 year contract. I don't consider that trolling but you obviously disagree.
  8. I trolled an issue? Have you lost your mind?
  9. We lost to other teams besides the Yankees. I know it sucks badly to lose to them. Regardless, do you seriously think we would have beaten the Yankees in the ALCS?
  10. I was smiling at my ban jacko line. I haven't said a word about Tek. I was hoping he'd retire and stay with the Sox organization. But that is not what is happening, so be it. I support the team that the GM and owners put out there and usually keep my whining at a minimum, because it won't change anything. Haven't missed your negative azz being around.... Welcome back Captain.
  11. Yeah, time for an 11 game winner to retire. He has had back surgery and it's up to him to make his starts to get his incentive bonuses etc. When Wake is on, he is ON. Just admit you don't like him, like das doesn't like Tek. They are both going to be back next season and no amount of your or anyone else's whining is going to change that. Get back on the Halladay rant why don't ya?
  12. It's always been hard to read anything you post. WS 27 has brought back out the worst in you....chill out, calm down and stfu.
  13. NO ONE said anything about Wake being a 3rd starter jacko et. al. Calm down Red Sox fans. STFU jacko!
  14. He went 11-5 last season and won his only start against the NYY.
  15. Don't know his stats etc. I was impressed by him. Seem to be in a lot of the Top 10 plays through out the season. Had some good at bats as well. But it's like the NFL Hall of Fame....anyone can get in.... KIDDING.
  16. Nope, don't see it happening. But I haven't talked to Theo in a while so who knows....wink wink.
  17. Agree 100% bro.
  18. Good news about Wake!! More details: Meanwhile, Alex Speier of WEEI.com has the exact details of Tim Wakefield's new deal. For you completists out there, here is the down-and-dirty: Base salary: $3.5m in 2010; $1.5m in 2011. Bonuses in 2010: $50,000 each for starts 11-15; $75,000 each for starts 16-25; $100,000 each for starts 26-30. Maximum: $5 million. Escalator clause for 2011 base salary: Throwing 130 innings would add $500,000. Throwing 160 innings would add $2 million. Bonuses in 2011 if base salary is $1.5 million: $100,000 each for starts 11-15; $200,000 each for starts 16-25; $250,000 each for starts 26-30. Maximum: $5.25 million. Bonuses for 2011 if base salary is $2 million: $75,000 each for starts 11-15; $150,000 each for starts 16-20; $200,000 each for starts 21-30. Maximum: $5.125 million. Bonuses for 2011 if base salary is $3.5 million: $50,000 each for starts 11-15; $75,000 each for starts 16-25; $100,000 each for starts 26-30. Maximum: $5 million. So at worst, Wakefield will earn $5 million. But could earn as much as $10.125 million is he piles up the innings and starts. If he does that, the Sox will gladly pay. Any starting pitcher who can give them 30 starts and/or 160 innings has a lot of value. Especially considering that Wakefield will ostensibly be the No. 5 starter next season behind Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, Daisuke Matsuzaka and Clay Buchholz.
  19. Pretty bad analogy:blink:
