I'm with Mo on this:
Former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera has a piping hot sports take in his new book, “The Closer.” He wrote that he would rather have Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia on his team than former Yankees second basemen and Rivera’s former teammate Robinson Cano.
Rivera questioned Cano’s drive to win, writing that he’s not sure if the second baseman “burns to be the best,” ESPN New York reported.
It’s bad enough to call out a former teammate and say you don’t see “red-hot passion in him,” but to compare him to long-time rival Pedroia takes it to another level.
Rivera writes of Pedroia: “Nobody plays harder, gives more, wants to win more. He comes at you hard for 27 outs. It’s a special thing to see.”
