  1. yanks cant get a big hit they cant get the big out either the wheels are falling off and i have my alarm clock set for 5am when the ny daily makes its appearance at store 24 nothing like the ny paper after the yanks get swept i gotta think someone goes by midnite
  2. scott proctor sucks why torre pulled mussina after 95 pitches is beyond me does he think proctor is a better option?? torre maybe golfing with cashman by the 4th of july
  3. clemens?? my feelings are documented and on my sleeve about him that said i am a realist he wouldve been exactly what the sox needed last spring when wake was hurt and we had the lenny dinardo experiment f*** up every 5th start essentially neutering our ability to put together long streaks and stop the bleeding when we needed to. that is gospel to think or say if hes somewhat himself he wont help is naive he wont be starting 30 games and going 8 innings per but he'll eat up some innings and be more effective than the kei igawas and the albert desalvos of the world. i look forward to his return as i hate him and the false way he carries himself it has little to do with the way he left us but more of the way hes pimped himself off i hate the way the press embraces him as some type of roman gladiator some of the s*** ive read from the miami herald to the la times to the milford daily news is incredible revisionist history but i wont get into it at 1225am because i'll be puking in my sleep.. he'll help the yanks if hes anywhere near himself at least he'll fill the seats
  4. wow 410 footer that ended the game...wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeew good 1 to win anyways id love to see drew play enuff to make a different judgement or specualtion but at this point i can only comment on what i see a player who has been treated like a diva since he was drafted and has always been plagued by injuries that have not only limited his playing time but also effected his performance.. he came in tonite hitting .228?? with most of his ab's in the 5 hole behind the best 3/4 combo maybe ever, certainly in the last 40 years as well as in front of lowell who is ripping the cover off the ball.. he was put in a position to succeed like nobody else and hasnt come close to living up to what we needed and what we expected of him. he may indeed come back and have a great 4 months,he hasnt heard the wrath as of yet cause we're playing .700 ball and winning stops whining. the issue that i and many of the nation fear is his commitment to team ball manny always got a pass, right or wrong petey buried 5 sets of grandparents in his 7 years here but he was also given a pass perhaps cause he was the best pitcher ever to grace fenway park drew hasnt earned that type of love in fact i think the masses expected him to prove all the experts and naysayers wrong by playing balls to the wall on each and every play we havent gotten that effort after missing 5 games last week with his banged up back he got another day off against the yanks despite hitting 6/14 against pettite and our guys playing 2 dh's in 4? days. the anti johnny damon if you will. i was never a nixon guy,i was livid after they traded jay payton who proceeded to have better #s than nixon in 60% of the starts playing in the pitchers park in oakland. that said i was told by a friend who played with him in pawtucket that he was the tuffest guy in the system,100% fearless and a great teamate to have. that game in tampa when he ""lost control"" of the bat was priceless i understand the need to upgrade and to move forward what i dont understand is them getting a guy with luggage for huge coin as we have pena rotting on the bench with hinske and a future stud in ellsbury and a huge market opening up for outfielders next fall. from the #s drew has posted in his career and what i see of him so far hes much better suited as a 2 hitter with his high obp a little speed and his patience. the 5 spot isnt really for him at this point until he starts driving the ball with consistancy. youk and lowell are ablaze they deserve the oppurtunity to hit in that slot till drew gets his s*** together 3bbs is a good nite in my opinion but he isnt doing anything to support manny hitting .227 and slugging .313 33-15 with some guys not hitting like theyre capable is a good thing i dont think anyone or anything should be f***ed with outside the occasional days off and batting order juggling. its a good thing to be a sox fan this memorial day weekend
  5. is it me or did cabrerra gain some weight this winter?? i saw him get doubled up this week and he wasnt close to beating it out maybe its my imagination pohlad in minny has real money,a sick bankroll and he could pay anyone and everyone if he wanted to the bottom line in minny is lack of tv revenue and an owner who has fish hooks in his deep pockets, its a sin too as minny puts 45-50k?? in the dome when they win and their home record in the post season was fabulous. we have a similar guy in the garden who owns the bruins he would have them psuedo competetive year in and out but would never blow the doors off any hi profile gunner and would dump any studs who would command big bucks. the people continue to show up and they would make money but the fans for the most part knew they had little chance to go all the way which sucks. that is changing slowly but surely but it took 25-30 years of cheese dick leadership for the masses to finally revolt.
  6. mj its 5/26 and as much as things are really going our way as God would want it i feel its too early to cash in the division and give up entirely as wild card teams are just as capable of winning in october as the team that wins 105 games. that said the yanks staff is simply atrocious and the older guys like giambi damon and mussina are really showing wear from years of hi profile action. the young arms arent going to be consistant enuff to put together a 15-3 run which is needed at this point and outside pettite the vets havent really got it done wang has been decent but not the stopper his #s are good but sometimes you need 10ks and 8 innings of 1 run ball thats asking too much from a sinker ball pitcher, you gotta agree here the only thing yanks fans need to worry about is the possible mortgaging of the future to get a few guys in for the run after the break the clemens deal was silly in my opinion but he maybe able to be effective enuff to alleviate the tax on the bullpen and bring some much needed urgency to this club. the w/card is a possibile option if they can play .600 ball the division is unlikely unless the yanks own the sox in head to head meetings its long time in coming man and theres no disgrace in giving up what youve essentially owned for 12 years edwin moses lost a race after 8??years of being unbeaten i saw hagler lose to leonard and buster douglas as a 38-1 dog ko tyson after nearly getting decapitated with an uppercut the round before the canadiens team of the late 70s won 4 in a row and lost a 1st round series to the northstars i believe?? that ended their run the celts lost game 6 at home in 85 against the lakers and i saw the road team celebrate in the garden right in front of red auerbach and under the banners. s*** happens the only issue is how bad the pressure effects cashman and the other powers that be.. they should think of 08 and let 07 play out as is
  7. lowell should be hitting 5th ideally if drew is on he is the solid 2 hitter based on obp,hes not a legit 5. he isnt on he should be hitting below lowell at this stage of the season and if he starts producing he could be moved back.
  8. dirk?? the arod of the nba, great #s,mvp awards and bounced in the 1st round after pulling the claude rains(invisible man). horrible results for the celts last nite the bad luck since the death of lenny bias continues
  9. if youre at a sox yanks game in the bronx on a saturday afternoon it feels like a sox homegame with all the sox fans there\ weeknights its a different story if the bronx is the ******* of the universe then jerome ave is 5 miles deep into the anus
  10. baylor u,right in the heart of waco, did they at least give you the options of iraq or prison?? i believe it was general longstreet who said IF I OWNED HELL AND TEXAS I'D RENT TEXAS crespo how do you refute these points as hes hitting 238 and did indeed miss 5 games last week?? do you have some type of magic formula that refutes this too?? kindly go f*** yourself stupid s***?? 14M per for drew, care to refute this too?? we're on the hook for 56M more,if you like this contract you are a f***ing idiot why should we believe he will do anything different than he has his entire career?? do you have a crystal ball?? 1 year on 1 year off, thats his legacy since he became a pro he f***ed over philly when he was drafted,he wasnt liked in st louis, atlanta let him walk away and the dodgers wanted no part of him and didnt blink an eye when he moved on. the way hes going he can be the white carl everett, but that wont happen unless we eat his contract or a huge part of it at least.....nobody wanted this guy,nobody... is it his love for his teamates or the charming fans in boston that will make him play when he's tired or feeling bloated or just not as fresh as he could?? get a grip sonny it seems your parents are getting f***ed out of a lot of tuition money. i hope you know more about math than baseball. hes a career underachiever and has shall we say a questionable desire to play nobody bid on this guy for a reason, the reason is you cant count on him and never really could. its may 23d and hes slugging .333,.18 points higher than the banjo hitting crisp. 1 helluva a 5 hitter to protect manny eh? and only 2M more than we're paying ortiz.......f***ing awesome dude nobody will be happier than me if he plays 140 games with some pop but i tend to deal in reality and the reality is this is very unlikely. crisp?? gets the huge insurance run based on nothing but speed and desire beats out the double play ball, steals 2nd and scores the huge 5th run that pretty much iced the game..he puts a lot of pressue on defense and is a huge distraction for the opposing pitcher... im not impressed with his bat,not at all but my expectations for him and drew were very far apart and although crisp has let us down hes still a better bargain than drew. hes not hitting like hes capable for sure but he will help the club as speed never slumps plus hes 10M per year cheaper than old jonathan david, the native georgian who came back east to play closer to home.....in boston, where he always dreamed of playing.... after stlouis and atlanta and los angeles of course why change the things that arent broken?? we're 10.5 games up and are getting it done both with the muscle from 3-4-6 hitters and the manufacturing aspects of our offense led by youk and the burners in lugo and crisp who both scored last nite. you dont need a crystal ball to see who isnt contributing.
  11. todd helton had fewer xtra base hits than lowell and youkillis last year plus hes on the dole till 2011 you can have him hes exactly what the yanks need, another softball player who is getting twice what hes worth
  12. i saw drew let a ball drop 2 feet in front of him yesterday i saw drew allow a ball to fall 2 feet behind him yesterday as well he missed 2 dheaders this week as well as another start i dont like pena, not remotely crisp is hitting ?.240 but has had some timely hits, runs the bases very well and has played cf without a hitch so far he hits the yankees pretty well too drew is on pace for another incomplete season if the sox were 10 down rather up then they'd both be getting their balls beaten in by the fans and the press and deservedly so i just think its ridiculous to tinker with this club as it stands today if we must ?? then i would use pena in right instead of center as it appears drew needs as much rest as possible when he isnt feeling all that fresh and the midol isnt at hand... its still boogles the mind why they gave this guy 70M
  13. theyre 10 up with crisp playing every day why change anything? if they insist on getting pena some playing time have him play right field where they shouldve had him penciled in for the season to begin with
  14. utah cant stay with these guys san antone is too balanced offensively
  15. redwings gagged up a gigantic furball they had that game won, they outplayed them and then they lost in ot backs against the wall lets see what theyre made of
  16. yeah hes obviously an allstar in the making how did he stay under the radar as they paraded stiff after stiff on the mound?? probably because he sucks heavy cock? if they lost last nite someone wouldve been fired today steinberger has been swallowing a lot of adversity lately but he hasnt had to give up the backpage to the queens from queens,a 3 game sweep by the mets wouldve been the end for someone huge series for the yanks the sox need 1 to keep the yanks 10 out
  17. albert desalvo, the original boston strangler, will not be confused with the other boston strangler, andrew toney. rasner desalvo aaron small bobby boogaloo chacon and these other assorted s*** bags theyve trotted out over the past few years are our version of jj johnson, kason gabbard and lenny dinardo theres no substitution for pitching depth and this is reason #1 why ny is looking up
  18. ducks fought for their lives last nite and came out ontop great game i think the wings 2 finish them in 6 theyre just too deep to beat in a best of 7 series
  19. i wouldnt count out the suns just yet the real mvp is on that team and i think stoudamire may explode due to his suspension they got a pop that said san antone has been there and done that so it should be interesting
  20. coco is 1 of 2 men on this team who can run they have indeed manufactured some timely runs with him on the field and please lets not compare the 2 in the field wmp is a f***ing disgrace in the outfield, hes liable to hurt himself or someone else out there he did show some patience last nite and if he continues to lay off the breaking balls in the dirt he will help this team i like hinske better as the #4 outfielder pena wouldve been 20 feet short of that play in right drew wouldve played it on a hop theres really no need to f*** with anything at this point they just took 3-4 from the al champs schilling gives up 8 xtra base hits including a hr and allows 2 runs?? amazing
  21. clemens will be a marvelous influence on the youngsters he can explain to them what it means to move closer to home and pitch for a contender and how it isnt about the money what a f***ing douchebag i hope his wife gets knocked up by sheffield and vince coleman
  22. coco is a joke?? 45abs pena has 18ks and 5 rbi and everything hit his way turns into a f***ing adventure im not 1 for bringing rookies up as we sit in the throne of having the best record in the league but it appears drew is going to need his 50 games off this year, the cf will struggle to hit .250 and the 4th outfielder may break rob deeres record for ks in 1/2 the ab's hinske is hitting .200 outfielders are cheap,we need some help there i fear
  23. whether it mattered in the 1st 45 minutes or not doesnt erase the fact that the suns were up 8 late in the 4th quarter and were crucified by the outside game as opposed to tim duncan they can use the loss of stoudamire as an excuse if they so choose but its ******** in my opinion they had the game won and gave it up in the last 2 minutes how about jersey scoring 6 4th points and still beating cleveland by 11 1 hoop,4-10 from the stripe in the 4th and they still win by 11?? the west coast plays good hoop the eastern conference is disgraceful
