  1. exactly i dont want to see mussin smoltz and rj down the stretch i really think the injuries are too much for them to overcome at this point and now with cano gone?? theyre too f***ed up to continue
  2. ozzie takes rivera over timlin no question but does he snub his own guy, rivera or paplebon 1 of them aint going but which one that being said if paple dont go it will be a travesty of justice
  3. the reason they dont discuss slick fielding short stops in the same regards as the better hitting shortstops is simple america likes the offense true baseball fans appreciate the agons and ocabs and ozzie smiths of the league avg fans fawn over the nomars,,tejadas and arods offense generates more excitement than defense y'all have a valid point when discussing the merits of agon as opposed to tejada but tejada is not nomar or jeter for that matter hes in a class by himself now.....300 30/100 can be penciled in hes also only missed 5 games in 7 years none in the last 5 seasons....thats impressive did you know agon never won a gold glove?? he is a treat to watch in the field
  4. agreed coco they need pitching for the future, never mind this year their 2 studs are aging rapidly, rivera isnt as lites out as he once was and the middle?? ha their middle relief should all be waived does mrs farnsworth ever get out of a jam??
  5. i dont think baltimore will be dealing tejada for matt clement abe alvarez and pedroia maybe lester hansen and pedroia but not matt clement, who by most accounts is finished as a competetive pitcher
  6. yeah that is crazy schill tejada is a stud however i too appreciate what agon brings to the table good to see old friend ocab continue his on base streak which now stands at 55 games hes hitting 3rd in anaheim how piss poor is that lineup??
  7. is it really so bad to miss the playoffs for the 1st time in 12 years rather than dump your stud for a chubby nl left fielder?? the key here is georges willingness to bite the bullet the future for the yanks isnt secure and george has never been 1 to lay back and accept the fate of doom its time for cashman to rebuild and i think the longer they wait the bigger the fall
  8. this is the thing instead of georgie holding on to this guy(i havent seen him pitch so i dont know how good he can be) they'll move him for an aging outfielder who may or may not provide a thumb to stop the boulder dam from bursting but come on they need more than carlo lee much more and to trade their best pitching prospect for lee is really silly,if they were 1 player away that'd be a different matter but that just isnt the case
  9. gammons has been the voice of inside baseball forever and here we were wondering if he had a stroke last year evidently its been coming for a while get well old timer
  10. he needs some innings some confidence,go after a few guys trust his stuff, its good what about lester?? wow another gem and this against a legit offense good for him hes making theos job much easier
  11. f***em was there any doubt arod would K in the 8th as the tying run with a guy on 2nd 1 out?? naaaa never a doubt any doubt about mrs farnsworth getting torched for some insurance in the 9th?? f***em i thrive in their misery when its time for captain america and his princess to step up and do some of the heavy work they disappear into the bronx nite like 10.00 whores i wonder how bad johnny d misses boston deep down inside....
  12. solers getting eclipsed tonite
  13. as long as steinberger has had his hands on this organization theyve become ""group stupid"" they make moves just to spite the redsox such as the jeff weaver denny neagle deals they grabbed up contreras after theo booked the entire resort he was staying in paying him 32/4 meanwhile his family was still in havana they grabbed vasquez because they knew we were hot for him, same thing with arod they traded a very affordable young player who was a 40/40 guy because steenberger knew we were hot for him all the above moves were made to spite boston not to improve the yankee lineup that ********** gets exactly what he deserves a 200M payroll that eagerly awaits the arrival of octavio dotel as its savior f***em
  14. Agree again. I said before he is Trot Nixons replacement, that may not be the case next season, but sooner or later either Nixon will leave, or Manny's contract will run out and we will have a young guy with big power potential to step in either in RF or LF. or he could be the bastard offspring of sam horn and phil plantier
  15. nice effort by the beavers by the way if these 2 teams played 100xs i think carolina would beat them in 80 of them osu was a dog in all 3games
  16. alvarez for a 27 yr old AAA guy? whats amazing is many give a s***
  17. why boo a guy who was nothing but great for 7 years?? anyone remember his last effort? 3-0 shutout over the cards in game 3 essentially locking up the world series? who would possibly boo this man?
  18. id like to cut francona ridin rudy all the way to the unemployment line is he??
  19. Good idea not to rush him back to Boston, but rather allow him to get some regular AB’s in Pawtucket. His lack of options and his assumed bench role would definitely limit any kind of consistent AB’s which would only delay his progress. look theres no doubt about his power and his power potential theres also no doubt about his lack of patience and how that will be exploited down the road against better pitchers hes been a pro since he was 17 and that contract he signed stunted his growth 150abs under watchful eyes, tapes etc.. can only help him
  20. ya i know who they are coco i just found it amazing that they can shut down a lineup that was supposed to score 1000 runs
  21. i too find it ironic that many here are of the mindset that theo wont f*** around with the future while ignoring all the people he moved.... as far as lowell being a .300 hitter with a goldglove?? he was a salary reducer,a throw in,,a 9million dollar hit that theo was willing to accept and he was written off by more than 1 scribe as washed up in march youk was here as was jt snow if lowell struggled 3 months later?? lowell should be in the allstar game
  22. getting shut down at home against dontrelle willis and anibal sanchez? willis is 4-7 with an era of 4 in the n.l,he has been coming on a bit however that doesnt translate well into the american league sachez never pitched in the majors check out the bullpen florida used in the nitecap Anibal Sanchez (W 1-0) 5.2 7 0 0 0 2 0 96-63 0.00 Randy Messenger 1.1 0 0 0 1 0 0 24-13 3.25 Logan Kensing 1.0 0 0 0 1 1 0 14-7 3.38 Joe Borowski 1.0 0 0 0 0 1 0 10-6 3.45 the bottom 3 didnt allow a yankee hit for the last 3 1/3 i dont know are they rookies or just guys who suck so bad ive never heard of them??
  23. never underestimate the stupidity of the chicago fans
  24. they need another starter,a guy who can bring it if they want to win it all that is if theyre only concerned about being competetive thru october then theyre fine they just played the B league,it isnt a good indication on how we sit with the elite however. i was arguing with someone here last week about the validity of the cardinals i thought that they sucked in spite of their record and that the nl in general are frauds with the exception of the mets they look good but again....lets see them in the big boy show
