I didn't really shoot it down...depending on what we'd have to give up, I'd be in favor of Dunn playing here. I don't think he's our long term solution, as I'd like to see the Sox make a run at one of the big-ticket FAs in center this offseason (assuming they don't think Ellsbury is ready, or they deal him...), but for the time being, I wouldn't hate seeing Coco get dealt or come in as a late inning defensive replacement/baserunner.
It just boggles my mind how you can call shortstop a black hole. Lugo is the top 10 in RBIs among ML SS and top 5 in SBs...he's got more RBIs, equal HRs, and triple the stolen bases that Jeter does. I don't have any doubt that his average will come eventually...but in the meantime, let him come out of his funk. Games aren't won based upon batting average...they're won based upon runs...and, to me, Lugo is doing a lot to generate those out of the SS position.
I predict he'll finish .275, 13 HRs, 80 R, 70 RBI, 37 SB. You won't take that out of a shortstop?
