  1. The ballpark helps them out a little there.
  2. I wouldn't deem Bush a failure quite yet, although he hasn't lived up to expectations so far.
  3. 1. Buchholz 2. Hughes 3. Chamberlain 4. Kennedy 5. Lester 6. Delcarmen 7. Hansen Kennedy/Lester I'm unsure on, I think Kennedy is more of a sure thing but Lester has a higher ceiling, and Buch/Joba/Hughes is basically a tossup.
  4. Washington actually has a chance at having a + .500 team next season.
  5. Willis is going to get f***ing raped in the AL. But Cabrera alone makes it a good deal.
  6. I think you can pencil in Ellsbury's OBP higher than that. His lowest at any level in the minors was .360, and that was getting used to AAA.
  7. Not to left field...
  8. If we deal Ells, Andruw Jones plz.
  9. I like this idea. Low risk, high reward.
  10. lol wut
  11. I'm just tired of talking about Barry Bonds.
  12. It's relevant to Lowell's future production yes, but I was saying that it isn't relevant in terms of replacing Lowell because his final numbers are what they are regardless of how they were achieved.
  13. He had an OPS+ 24 points higher than Loretta. The second half BABIP is irrelevant, the final production is the final production.
  14. Yeah, I didn't say the Sox would trade them, but why would Oakland trade one of the best pitchers in baseball who's only 27 years old and not even receive one of our top two prospects? C'mon.
  15. At least one of them for sure, I don't even think Beane would be interested unless it was both.
  16. They hardly threw a lot of money at Uribe...one year at 4.5 mil? Dye and Beuhrle were shopped around at the deadline and not traded because no one wanted to give up the prospects to get them. They were re-signed, because, why let them go for nothing but a draft pick or two? I'm sure they would deal them, too, if teams were willing to give up worthy prospects. As for Konerko, he's due 36 mil until his contract runs out and he's 32 so I really don't see why they wouldn't listen to offers for him. And considering the Sox could have probably had Dye at the deadline for a deal centered around Bowden, I'm confident that a similar deal would at least spark up some interest for Konerko. He seems to be an even medium between A-Rod and Cabrera...would probably hit 35 HR and OPS .850 with the Monster, but at about 2/5 of A-Rod's price and not nearly the prospects required to land Cabrera.
  17. We gave Pedroia .285/.345/.361 boots to fill. We'd be giving Lowrie .324/.378/.501 boots to fill. If Pedroia faltered, it was ok, because Loretta was nothing special either...but if Lowrie were to faulter, it'd be a huge blow to the offense.
  18. Kevin Youkilis. Trade for an outside 1B. Paul Konerko. He'll rake in Fenway and cost about 1/4 of what Cabrera would prospect wise, without the financial limitations and baggage A-Rod brings.
  19. In 32 games. Konerko's a right handed pull hitter with power. Right handed pull hitters with power = good for Fenway. Why wouldn't they shop him anyways? They might as well clean house after the season they had and Konerko is due a large sum of money.
  20. Honestly, what the f*** is there to have with 35 million that you couldn't have with 28?
  21. I think Konerko would be a nice option if Lowell left. He would rake in Fenway and he probably wouldn't cost much more than Bowden and Hansen. Youk would move to 3rd.
