  1. What about Peavy, Kouzmanoff, and Green?
  2. Yes I know I might catch hell for doing this. I do not want to see Manny traded, as like most of you. Though I want to know what would be the best deal the Sox could get in your mind. Not just a pipe dream, but an actual trade that could possibly happen. Would it be around prospects or maybe MLB talent. I'm just trying to see what value Manny has to us and the difference it is to the Yankee fans.
  3. That would be the least likely trade, I mean seriously would the Red Sox trade Manny to a team they see what 19 games a season, yeah keep dreaming. Manny will only be moved if we get a power bat back and that is also not in our division. None of those teams would really work.
  4. Dude I would so bet that Wily is alittle like that. It just seems like he would be that kind of guy. Also, what do you think is the Red Sox's stand of live chickens in the clubhouse before games
  5. I'm willing to sit out on a limb and say if Wily starts this year he'll hit .260 with 25 homers and 90 rbis.
  6. They don't have the fans to fill a 50,000 person stadium every night. That's why they don't more. 40,000 is still a push but they will sell-out about a dozen games.
  7. That's why I have a feeling the Sox are exploring first basemen opitions. Dunn for Cinci or even Big Tex seems possible. Dunn would be the much easier one to get with a package of Hansen/Delcarmen, Youk, and Hinske/Murphy. This gives Cinci a cheap first basemen since they want to shed pay-roll. A good young arm and a player that COULD take over CF when Griffey leaves. It would possibly take more, I don't know. Dunn is on the outs in Cinci as I read in the newspapers (I live in Ohio). They don't like his defense in LF, which is horrible. With the Sox he can move to first base. This also allows us to keep Gonzo weak bat in the line up. The only thing this offense now hinges on is can Crisp and DP get on base. If they can our offense is great. People might hate Dunn because of the K's but he reminds me of another player I watched a lot growing up i.e. Jim Thome. He'll hit the hell out of a ball, walk a few times, get a lazy single, and strike out alot. But with Lowell behind him I think we can take the chance. Tex is just a pimp dream.
  8. IF, IF he returns to the AL East my gut tells me he'll be pitching for the Sox.
  9. Tomo Ohka is someone we need to look at. For a 5 starter he'd be a very, very good pick up. Possibly 3 years at 3-4 million a year.
  10. You can teach a catcher how to catch the knuckleball, it's the willingness of the catcher to learn it.
  11. I actually give him 15-16 million over 4-5 years, with a no trade clause. We need him and we need to keep him from the Yankees.
  12. That if big IF isn't going to happen. Abreau isn't a Sheffield, he doesn't hit 30 homers a year. Who's at first? That's a good question. Arod might be a great player but maybe New York is getting at him. Also where's the pitching for the Yankees? I expect a great battle again with the Red Sox and Yankees.
  13. Strong 5 hitter I'll take, if he isn't Barry Bonds. I'll give you an example. The two best players on ym basketball team were kicked off the team b/c they screwed up some cars. I was pissed b/c they costed us possible a really good season. Then the board let them back on and I'm even more pissed. I don't want people like that on my team. I want the good guys who become legends, not just good players.
  14. I thought Delgado was traded for?
  15. f*** Bonds, I rather lose 100 games then have that dick on the Red Sox. Maybe I care about pride too much, but I rather lose fairly, then cheat and win.
  16. Yeah I would say 600 strikeouts would be WAY too much to give up for around 200 hr and 600 rbis. LOL
  17. What about Dunn. We offer Youk and a couple of ok spects in a deal. Then we have a killer 3-5 and maybe even 3-6 if WMP can get going.
  18. It's just that fact that you haven't grasped the idea that this is the ARod you'll see time and time again. He's just going to get worse in the limelight. If I was the Yankees, thank God I'm not, I would trade ARod if a team even offered me a 2/3 slot pitcher and a good 3B. Think along the lines of Ensberg and Pettitte, maybe.
  19. Thank you, this board thinks of only the worst. I believe in atleast a playoff birth and if need a reason here's two...:papelbon:...............:ortiz:
  20. MVP huh, is George going to buy that too?
  21. How about moving Paps in the starting role and offering Gagne a one year contract heavily on preformance and add on an option year.
  22. The true story (I line in Ohio) is he was being pulled over, but started a police chase. So when he was finally pulled over they tried to shock the s*** outta him but couldnt because of the vest. So finally they got him arrested an looked the SUV an found three handguns and a assult rifle, which is going to get him a couple of years in the house.
  23. Well 700 the point you dont see with the Mets, they did what we are doing now. Saving young talent and delevoping them into stars. In 3 years when Youk and Dustin are all stars and Wily Mo is cracking 50 a year call me.
  24. IF..... IF we get Jones I dont want to see him swapped for anyone. I like to see a contact offered to keep him here for 3 more seasons at 15 mil a year. I know it's high but having Ortiz, Manny, and Jones IMO would give us a chance to possible win one or two more championships and also be named along with so of the greatest teams.
