    It should be pointed out that the statisitics are just bearing out what others have noticed. When the stats confirm the observation, the argument by the deniers is that the sample size is too small. The problem is that the sample size is becoming larger and larger. I think it is pretty clear from all of the evidence that the kid has some squirrels running around inside his head when there are runners in scoring position. Hopefully, he grows out of this sooner than later.

    I should clarify that this is no different than most sports organizations. They all have this goal. It's all about making money, not winning. They only try to win to help them make money.

    Conspiracy? Other than your assumptions about Farrell and Cherrington being intelligent, I think that you have hit the nail on the head. This probably the main goal for the Red Sox organization.

    Lester pitched 3 hit complete game shutout last night. His cash register is ringing up his pricer almost as fast as the National Debt clock. I can't see us outbidding the Yankees. OUr best shot will probably be with Scherzer. I think the Tigers getting Price who is under contract for another season means that the Tigers are not going to attempt to re-sign Scherzer.

    I was listening to the Cardinal feed yesterday. McCarver agrees with you. I don't know if that makes you more confident or less confident in your position. BTW, I thought that McCarver had retired. I guess the truth is that he was fired by the Nsatioonal Networks and the retirement story allowed him to save face.

    He has almost 500 ABs and he has 28 RBI, but he does have a whopping 46 runs scored. Of course, we have been told that these numbers and his stats with RISP mean nothing.

    The bottom five of our lineup against the best pitcher in the NL is, XB, Vasquez, Automatic Out JR., Middlebrooks and WorkMan. I am hoping for a rain out.

    This season for XB has been like an octogon -- he's constantly turning a corner.

    Fred, sometimes it is better to be lucky than to be good, and last season, Farrell had a boat load of luck.

    He had such a confused look on his face when they were intentionally walking Ortiz. It was almost comical. He couldn't figure out where he'd gone wrong.

    He's brain dead. The minute that Napoli's ball went into the corner, Farrell should have called Ortiz back to the dugout. He completely wasted his bat in that situation. Nava should have batted for himself and then possibly pinch hit Ortiz for XB or Vasquez.

    LOL!! Sarcasm I hope. Plenty of patience buried us in last place. I would have kept Sizemore and sent Bradley to the minors. I also would have kep AJ who can hit a little and DFA'd Ross who in 2 seasons with us can't make it to the Mendoza line, plus he has had Panter Fasciatis (sp) all season long. But the problem hasn't been a lack patience.

    I could see taking Ruiz and Burnett. They would fill holes, but we probably wouldn't take Papelbon if we are re-signing Koji. If we take two of them and some second tier prospects, I could see it. We are not getting Hamels straight up for second tier prospects.

    He's the most valuable piece that they have, and without him, they have no rotation. He will stay a Phillie unless he can fleece some team.
