  1. And you are seizing on and making an issue of a throw away line in my post. Lol!
  2. i got it either from an MLBtraderumor article ( which is usually from a Boston beat writer) or from a Herald article. The didn't cite their source.
  3. I'd prefer to be handcuffed at the end of a $200 million Price contract instead of the front end of the $170 million spent on Hanley and Porcello. So, Price doesn't make me shudder.
  4. It is not my business so it doesn't make me shudder at all. But I am a fan
  5. i am with you on that. I hate the Dodgers.
  6. I Buehrle has retired.
  7. I have heard theories that Fenway's gun gives faster readings because of it's closer proximity to the field than guns at other ballparks.
  8. 45 years? Rookie. LOL! Welcome.
  9. The slide was borderline. Even though he went over the bag, he did not slide until he was past the bag. I think he could have been called out for obstruction, but it was borderline. As for the reversal of the call, I didn't see that there was clear evidence to support reversal whether or not the neighborhood play was in effect.
  10. And Lackey continues to come up big in October.
  11. And this is on Fenway's fast rigged gun.
  12. Thanks buddy. It was a tough road having to beat both your team and Adam's team. We have always played very close contests, but you usually come out on top. Adam's team was stacked.
  13. Chen is much better than Miley, maybe not a #2, but better than Miley.
  14. I have no idea what kimmi is talking about.
  15. Completely different.
  16. "Defending a position" Your words. I was asking for information, not advocacy of a position. Note, I am not telling you what you think or feel.
  17. He was in a verbal altercation with patrons at a nightclub about a month ago. I'll bet something else comes out explaining this timing.
  18. LOL! You must be joking. He checks in for rehab the day before the Wild card game.
  19. Pitching is the key and the best formula for sustained success is a solid rotation. Bullpens are very important, but too inconsistent from year to year. This season we rolled out the worst rotation on day one than I have seen since the days of Jerry Stephenson. Whether they underperformed or not, we were going nowhere with that crew. And we spent a lot of money on that garage.
  20. Kimmi, is cool, but I have this feeling that we were married to each other in a prior life.
  21. Thanks! I appreciate the shout out. One of the benefits of being an insanely obsessed and dedicated fan for half of a century is you can start to see patterns within seasons that you have seen many times before and you can figure out where things are going early on. I have also seen enough to know that if DD adds 2 pitchers and gets a bullpen things should turn 180 degrees for this team. You bring a lot of fun to the board. It has been fun hanging with you too. I think Talk Sox was a pretty good place to be this season in spite of the putrid play by the Red Sox for most of the year. Stick around for the off season. I think it will be very eventful and interesting.
  22. Thanks Adam. This is my second Championship in the last 3 years in the TalkSox league. I am the anti-Cherington. LOL!!
  23. yep. When it was announced that he had cancer, I thought that it would be very difficult to fire him. I hope he makes a full recovery, but he is not part of the solution.
