  1. Cortes has been very effective for the Yankees and Pivetta is a 5+ career ERA pitcher. I don’t like this matchup. I don’t like any of the pitching Matchups in this series. I am hoping that Dalbec keeps up his hot hitting and wrecks a couple of Cortes’ pitches today.
  2. If the infield had been playing a normal double play alignment, Rizzo’s hit would have been a routine DP. I really don’t like severe overshifting with a man on first. I have seen too many DPs get lost even if they hit a ball at one of the fielders. Sometimes there is no one playing close enough to 2nd base to make a quick turn. Sometimes it is the third baseman making the turn or the relay and they don’t have the middle infielder skill to make the play. I am sure that the spray charts support the alignments they use, but just sayin that when the ball came off Rizzo’s bat, my 1st thought was DP.
  3. It is consistent with the Red Sox defense in 2021.
  4. Hopefully, they will bury these ugly uniforms after this game.
  5. Tonight looks like a Cora forfeit game.
  6. I don’t like any of the matchups in this series.
  7. How is it that so many of these games come down to a situation with Gardner holding a bat.
  8. Cruz is also an elite bat. The Red Sox usually have to overpay. As a fan, I leave the finances to the filthy rich ownership who soak every nickel they can out of the fans. I was just commenting on being disappointed about losing an elite bat. Also, JD is now a full time DH, so he will no longer command $20 million/year. At $15-17 million Ortiz money, he would be a bargain.
  9. Cora needs to get a new garbage can.
  10. Bogey imo is a good SS. Good hands and an accurate arm mean something too. Range isn’t the only determinative factor for fielding. Bogey makes all the routine plays and a very high percentage of the difficult plays. Not everyone who has more range is as consistent in that regard.
  11. If you line up his production over the last 6 or 7 years, he is in an elite group, and for all the guff he is getting this season, his production has been pretty good. If he leaves, I will be sorry to see him go if they don’t replace his big bat. Also, he reportedly has helped the other hitters on the team, which has value.
  12. Glad you are feeling better.
  13. Rain interrupted games change the way it is played and managed and it sucks the fun out of watching.
  14. I left nothing out. Those are your thoughts and words.
  15. You prove my point every time. They never attack posters. They are harmless. You, on the other hand...
  16. Of all the guys in our system, I would put my money on Yorke. This kid can rake. He would be at the top of my untouchable list.
  17. I will always be pissed about trading and not resigning Betts, regardless of budgets etc. He was a generational talent. In Red Sox history they have had Ruth, Ted Williams, Yaz, Rice, and Betts with similar profiles. IMO, you can’t let franchise defining players walk. Plus, he was my favorite Red Sox player since Yaz, so I don’t care about the other side of the argument.
  18. They are harmless albeit eccentric. The people who they trigger are the nutjobs.
  19. Not attacking the zone and nibbling isn’t as fixable.
  20. Announcers comments about Davis can be summed up as saying that “he has been surprisingly good for a bum.”
  21. Would it be illegal to to put a shock collar on Vasquez when he is on the bases?
  22. Dalbec is a wrecking ball.
  23. He doesn’t attack batters. He always nibbles and looks like he is pitching scared.
