I would be surprised if any number 1 starter wouldn't tell his manager that he was fine, and I am sure that he was fine. But the game was a blowout, and I would rather protect Price's health than the health of any of the pigs in our bullpen .

I don't think that I posted that sentiment in this context. This game was a blowout. The weather was oppressive and the starter was already over 100 pitches.

I I did not think that it endangered the outcome of game if he went out for the 8th inning. That was not my concern. As I said before, I think could have pitched an inning. The game was in the bag. My concern was overtaxing Price unnecessarily.

He hits enough to play SS everyday in the majors. His value is his glove. The question about him was where he could hit enough to stick.

I agree. It was just a very oppressively hot night. Also, there is probably no salvaging our pen with rest. We need arm transplants

I thought he was looking a little gassed, but the lead was big enough to send him out for the 8th. My issue was that there was no reason to push the pitch limit with him last night in the heat. The game was bullpen proof.
